Hi Thanks for the ranking,

My concept is to show 'influence by listening' - this was represented by the colors of word 'change' - influenced by the colors of word 'listening'

please do not hesitate to ask if you like to see changes to my design.

Thanks

Might you be able to do something with 3 colors...I need the colors to be energizing and be appealing to both the younger generation while not turning off the older generation. So, something that might be trendy but grounded by a stabalizing color to take it into the future?

Riza,

I really like what you did on both 41 and 48, and I'd like to see a few tweaks, if possible.

First, I really like the text on two lines in 41. I also really like the lower case letters, but I would like to see one with an upper case L and C, just to make sure.

Second, I really like the color changes in number 48. Brilliant! I got how you incorporated change right away as the words went through the halo. However, the colors don't "grab" me as much as I'd like. Perhaps it's the beginning with red, but did you do that because of the rainbow thing...red comes first? You might be right with that. Perhaps a different more vibrant hue? And perhaps one with the tertiary colors?

Is this too much to ask? I hope I'm not being too difficult, but I really love this idea.

Riza,
Anyway to incorporate a little more blue in 54? I'm concerned about it being too trendy....

Getting There! I like the font in 54 and the blue in 65. I feel like the blue paired with the orange is a little too trendy and will outdated shortly. What can make it both trendy and lasting? Perpahs play with the 3rd color, too?

I think I have an idea, but I don't know if it will work. What colors "blend" into each other naturally?

I also don't know much about logo tournament. Are we still allowed to communicate and revize after the contest over, or is that it?

Hi by blend do you mean complimentary colors or blend like gradient / gradual change ?

About the colors I also have some idea,
because I believe your theme is about influencing or 'softening' people to follow us- I've been thinking to use a strong color (represent jaded thinking that need to be soften up) for the word 'change' and the listening and part of cutted change use a more soft colors - what do you think ?

for outside communication like email, yes we are allowed to do that but only after the contest has closed here, and another thing I need to mention since the contest is about to enter judging phase - by that time only first rank designer able to submit additional revisions.

Thanks

I think I mean gradual change that there are two or three distinct colors and then the gradients in between. I'm sorry I'm not so verbal in terms of the temrs.

Try a strong color first, going into the softer color and then flip the colors in another design, so I can get the diea.

Thanks!

Riza, I really appreciate your willingness to work with me, and becasue you've been so great, I have ranked you #1. I have to confess that I'm somewhat flummoxed, and I'd like your professional opinion on things. I know you've tried very hard to please me, and one thing I've realized in reading up on graphic design is there is so much to know, and I'll never learn what I need to know in just 7 days. So, I'll be looking for your to help me out in your explanations.

1. I personally like the ring better in its angle on 54 as compared to 47. From a style perspective, do either send a different message? In your eyes, is one better than another? If so, why?
2. From my reading, it appears that I shoudl stay away from serif fonts. #54 is a serif font, and I really liked it. I think, though, one of the reasons I liked it is because it was larger and thus easier to read. Is there a san serif font that might achieve the same level of ease to read but also stay more in the current/contemporary arena?
3. I'm still unsure about colors. Though most of my clients will be younger professionals (age 20 - 35), I do not want to turn off the older generation either. I'd also like the colors to not be too trendy so I don't need to change the logo in a few years. What colors would you recommend and why?
4. I know my personal taste navigated more to two to three separate colors instead of gradiation. But, from a design perspective, is one better than the other? Why?

Thanks!

Hi to answer your question :

1. For the 'ring' I agree the angle is look better on 54 because I think it is look more balanced with overall of the design and the reason is if you look the design from left to right it is flow more in straight line and there is nothing protude / exceed in top and bottom of it. To be honest with you the reason I positioned the ring on #47 at that angle is because I try to cut the Change word at the letter C & H without losing the clarity of what the letter being cut out, there is no particular message I try to convey with that actually.

2. For serif and sans serif actually it depends what kind of message or image you want to be conveyed - since serif generally more suitable for company that want to give message of establishment or have long experience in their area of business - maybe since your company target to more young and modern market sans serif would be a better choice after all the company is want to introduce new thing in communication and modern and progressive is I believe more correct message to be conveyed. I will give you some alternative font in a moment, maybe with some different weight to choose from.

3. For the colors I think even though you are targeting young people we should use color that leaning to more to corporate and with serious tone (like blue, grey, deep red, etc) and avoid something too flashy - and gradient or uncommon color might be not very good thing to implement since uncommon color can be very subjective from person to person, so something that leaning to more safe would be a wise decision in your particular company. I could be wrong here so please if you have something you want to try or find interesting I would be ready to try that out, if you ask me I like the colors on my entry #78 - it is using different shade of blue and grey - which I think the bright blue not making it too boring / old-ish yet still have the serious tone to it.

4. Yes as above I agree several solid color is better instead gradient in this case, in fact from design perspective we should always look a design, especially important in logo design, in it's very basic form without any color first - that way we could see it 'naked' without any make up / bell and whistles -
so it could always look like what it is in all posible application - sometimes gradient or to many effects could distract from the design true form, not saying it is not good to have but if we need to have broader options for the design application in the future, less is truly better, but if you think you want to have gradient or more effects for it to look more dynamic and modern we could always take that direction since you are already seeing what the design look like in their basic color so you know what it look like in application that requires less effect like silk screen printing, embroidery etc.

Thank you very much for your feedback please if you still have something that you need to ask don't hesitate to ask it, from designer point of view it is always good thing when a CH is active in communicating their need and concern, this way we could get clearer picture on what direction or image you want to actually achieve, for now I will submit some font alternative and let you know when I have uploaded it.

Thanks

We're getting closer, Riza! Here are my comments...

1. At this point, I really like the color schemes in both 75 and 78.
-Do you think the scheme in 75 is too trendy with the second color?
-In 78, could the first blue be a little darker, though still vibrant, and the grey be a little darker?

2. My eye still goes to the serif, and I appreciate what you said about making it more modern. Of hte modern options you provided, I believe 92 is the strongest. Some seemed too futuristic. Might 92 be a little "weightier" though?

3. I do like when both the Listening and Change words are the same size.

4. Can you tack on the subtitle Communicating with Purpose, as well?

Hi I have upload the update on #96 #97 #98 #99 #100

On all these update I made the first blue a bit darker, For #100 I think second color (a bit dark teal) is not too trendy the main part of the logo is still the bright blue which could hold it to the safe zone.

Thanks

Riza,

I love what you did with the taglines. I feel 96 balances a little more than 97, as it extends under all of the words. Aesthetically, which do you like better and why?

Is the font in 96 a serif font? If so, can we try the exact same design of 96 in the font of 92?

Is the word "to" the color as the "hange"? It looks a little darker, but I realize that may be my monitor. I'm thinking it perhaps should be a shade lighter, as it hasn't gone through the circle yet.

I"m so happy we're almost there! You are the best to work with! Let me know if there is somewhere I can write positive comments about you that might be helpful for you and your business.

Two last questions.
1. I recognize I asked for .esp files (that's what the company designing my website said to ask for). Might I also get the logo in a format where I can cut and paste it into Word documents? I'm not sure what that would be called.

2. In an ideal world, I wouldn't have to choose between one with the slogan and one without. Will I be able to get both, or does LogoTournament restrict me to one?

Thanks so much!

Hi Dr. J, I have upload the lighter grey and sans serif font with tagline update on entry #101 #102

Thank you very much for your offer to write the comments :), but I don't have any web or any promotion media at the moment, maybe you could keep me on file for your reference.

1. On Logo Tournament you will get two format eps and jpg when the contest closed, you could use the jpg to be used on word documents.

2. Yes you could get the logo without the tagline. It is basically the same logo.

Thanks

Almsot there, Riza! I've narrowed it down to 102 and 101. However, the feedback I'm getting is that the tagline (communicating with purpose) is a little hard to read because it's light. Keep in the gray realm (as opposed to black), and adjust the word "to" accordingly to match it. If you could do that both to 102 and 101, and then do both without the tagline, too, then I think we might be there!

Thanks so much!

Thanks so much, Riza! I really appreciate it. I really like 106 and 105 (sans tagline, but same design).

If you could provide both in both formats, that would be super!

Is there a way for me to communicate with you outside of this site if I want future work done?

Hi Dr. J, yes as mentioned earlier I could provide the logo with the tagline removed.

For outside communication I will give you my email address once the contest is over. I could not give you any outside communication info while the contest still running, as this may translate to backdoor dealing to designers community here. I hope you could understand it.

Thanks
