Here are a couple of possibilities for you. I will work on some more in the morning. and will make sure that the degree of rotation on each segment is accurate.
Hope you have a restful evening, Kind Regards, Teresa
I may not have enough time this morning to add another...but will try...and I teach all afternoon so will come back and work on some this evening for you.
Let me know if any of these are of interest or if you want me to go in a different direction.
I will illustrate the wheel with a linchpin also if you would like to see that...maybe 'realistic', impressionistic, or stylized whichever style you prefer.
Sorry - am stuck inside without wifi at a meeting in Addis all day each day this week! Thank you so much for your entries! I like the one with the yellow border as it seems more defined. Perhaps you can try it on the side and maybe reduce it a bit? I would love to see other ideas that you have - realistic and stylized of the choices you suggested. I'm afraid I don't know exactly what I want, so may not be able to give guidance beyond the concepts until I see something (don't you love that?!). I would also love to see more people play with the venn diagram concept in a mix of real/stylized.
I will think about these...It might be the 'busyness' of the venn diagram is intimidating??...it is a lot of detail in regard to an icon or logo....but will try something.
Here are some for you...I didn't go in the direction of the raw brush stroke...tried it with these and not as strong.
Let me know if you want anything changed in any elements, layout, colors, arrangement, line, font, etc or interchange any of the elements to create a new design. I tried the venn diagram for you. The last one I added a linchpin in the center and gave a plane shadow to give movement and the appearance of rolling.
I will check back in the morning for your response. Thank you! Have a restful evening Teresa
Thanks! I'm so sorry if my comments are brief but I'm running out the door! I love the color combinations, but now that I'm looking at the ideas thinking maybe stylized is the way to go. In particular, I'm drawn the the center portions of the venns and the areas of color around them. Perhaps you can try cutting away at the circles and leave hints of them while focusing on the areas of overlap? Gosh - i hope this makes sense!
I am so sorry - clearly am not giving you the right direction! If it helps, i really love your #1 Mondo Mushroom and Downtown Farmer's Market logos because they are so clean and classic while still looking modern. My business name is not lending itself the same type of representation. I've seen your designs for Spark so I hope you're able to try again!
Our messages crossed! I think trying to do both the wheel and the venn is causing problems? I actually prefer the venn diagram concept, frankly, so perhaps stick with that?
The "L" is the linchpin...also spectrum of orange and blues are complimentary colors to create impact. With the dark background the colors become intense. But it can be done with transparent, white or any dark background that will compliment the golden yellows.
If there are any specifics in any of the designs that are of interest to you if you let me know I can design a new logo from your notes.
If you want to try something very crisp and sharp I can do that also, but in the meantime I have another idea more I'm going to try based on your brief notes and will try to get that to you this afternoon.
:-) I guess I can see there could be an association..if you like the style of the lines and arrangement of the venn maybe I could move it up to the "L" as on the other??
Ooh, can you try 95 without the blue background? Will make it less expensive to print business cards, etc. I'd also like to figure out how to emphasize the overlap section in the middle! Thanks!! Wish my internet were better here - sorry for delayed comments!
#110 is starting to look great! Can we play around with colors? I think this particular combination may be too soft. I am also open to variation in the circle sizes - and to the shape itself if it strikes you. Thanks again!
I just realized I forgot to comment on #80. I liked the direction this was going, but think the wheel/venn was hard to see as there were too many elements. Try simplifying perhaps?
If there is anything you want to change in size, arrangement, brush type, colors, etc. or if you want to go in a completely different direction let me know.
One of the things about the 'brightness' or intensity of color which you did see on the Spark which was in RGB ...with CMYK or 4 color process it is actually more flat in color...RGB the spectrum can be more intense but will be lost with the 4 color...unless you use pantone equivalent spot color.....see this on the computer image needs to be in RGB. Although RGB will not lose the intensity on a website. Not sure what you wanted to see in regard to this. It is not likely you will get the same on print without spot color selection as you will see on RGB computer files.
The other way for the color to be intense is with a very dark background or black.
I will check back with you tomorrow evening if there is any other that you may want to see only those in the rank according to the phase of the contest may submit entries.
I realize when you sent the invitation and you said it was Spark that you liked the layout unless you want to see sparks coming from the venn or radiating color from the center that is a possibility but the style you are interested in is very different.
If it was the color combination the vibrancy was because of the dark background, I used the same colors in these for you.
Teresa, Thank you so much for all of your entries. I am now realizing from your last message that I miscommunicated what I liked about your work. As I recalled, we had gone through a variety of styles and I wasn't necessarily referring to the last choices we made for Spark as it was a very different use case. I really appreciate how responsive you have been despite not finding quite the right match. I will for sure recommend you to anyone I know needing design services outside of logotournament!
