Thanks... it's hard to rank what we have so far since they all look so similar.
#73 and #73 are closer... Your best fonts so far!
What would you design if we had not suggested including a lightbulb? Would you even include a lightbulb? I think we would embrace something totally new and encourage your raw design ideas. I feel we gave too much instruction so most designs are modified versions of what we already have. (and don't like) We will select something much different from our original design. You are top ranked so far but we expect very different designs will be posted. Hope this helps.
A bit of a dilema, I think maybe you are giving mixed signals. Trying to create a logo to look like a "SiIicon Valley Start-up" is problematic, because that's not a business.
You are in the business of giving consultation for health insurance, correct? I think the lightbulb is perfectly appropriate to convey that business, It stands for thought and clarity. Pefect for consulting about something as compIex as Health Insuance. I think the bulb should be drawn in simple shapes, more rounded than elongated, this way it looks unique and less literal.
I agree a Lime (Fruit) would be silly. Other than that, maybe rays of light would work but they would need to shine on something. Otherwise, they may look like spotlights on a theater stage. Even if I could think of something for the rays of light to shine on, I doubt it would convey the same message or be as strong as the light bulb.
We make insurance easier with technology. We are not a consulting firm. We create apps and other technology. We are a tech startup in the insurance field. Not an insurance company with technology.
The stage spotlight is a nice suggestion... we are very interested in ANY different ideas and growing tired of the same lightbulbs ideas... or at least wanted to see a new treatment of the light concept. Thicker, bold custom fonts are prefered... maybe stack the words? Maybe the light comes from the center, not just a lightbulb on the left and name on the right. Maybe a reverse like Skype logo? I regret showing a sample of our old lightbulb logo as that is all we are seeing. I would prefer to see something else.
Ok, so I've come up with a new idea that I think is fantastic.
Completely different!
It was right in front of my nose...what better way to show brilliance and shinning light than the North Star !!!
It also has the powerful connection of leading the way!
I wanted a new way to show a ray of light -- so this 'ray' of light is breaking through the page, splitting it open! A more creative way to show a BURST OF BRILLIANCE, more contemporary, like the new social media logos. The swirl inside to represent the challenge of large amounts of information. Also has the effect of a star leading the way...WHEN YOU ARE LOST AT SEA YOU LOOK FOR THE NORTH STAR...excellent connection in the publics mind, leading the way, etc.
Did you ever think of changing you tag line, shorten it and convey clearly what you do. The "simplify" part is understood, and a bit redundant at this point, most people who use apps do so for just that reason :)
our tagline is important to us. we do not only do apps so the healthy apps tagline does not work. north star is a good concept but is a mixed metaphor with our name... limelight has nothing to do with north star. I like 101 best but the star is not ideal.
Its NOT a star, its a burst of light that holds the same strength that is conveyed by the power of stars, its the concept of strength, power and vision in the concept. You have to feel i and understand the concept. I know Limelight has nothing to do with the north star, just like Facebook has nothing to do with The letter F in there logo.
If you want something original you have to be able to see things differently or you will end up with a compromised Logo.
You have a star in the 1st place entry, maybe its a literal visual You need in order to see concept.
We like the font in 101/103 but want to see with a bulb. We have 4 founders to please and I am trying to get us aligned. Some really light the bulb concept. We all like your design sense and font.
We cannot update ranking since they all are missing something.
Just met with the team: The font is what they don't like. Don't like the rounded L.
The bulb: The design is good although the filament is not... one partner said it "looks like nazi SS symbol" I think an empty bulb or single lowercase "L" could be better. We agreed not to consider people or spotlights... just a bulb. Flat, no shading or 3D is good. 132 and 134 are best format... or 136 without shading. CLEAN and SIMPLE will win.... this could be the last version! : ) Thanks for your patience.
The simplicity of the shapes will work in any color combination and will reproduce excellent without loss of integrity on any media large or small, i.e. moble, electronic, signage, print, wearables, specialties, etc.
