Our organization is not happy with the current "old logo," which is included in the attachments and labeled OLD LOGO 2. We are not happy with this logo because the fonts are not readable, and it does not make a statement about who we are. An older version of the logo, OLD LOGO 1, which is still in use, was set in the font "Rage Italic." Our new logo should be the opposite of "Rage Italic." The OLD LOGO 1 is completely unreadable at a distance and presents a readability problem for disabled and visually impaired members of our community. We want the logo to be updated and modernized for the current time. Readable and accessible.
As mentioned earlier, the logo must include the Lancaster County outline and the "international library symbol" of the person reading a book. How these are implemented in the logo is up to you.
Special consideration will be given to logo submissions that prove to be easily adaptable for Library initiatives. One such initiative is our Bookmobile, which is a van that travels around to offer books to those who are unable to travel to libraries. So for example, we would like to see a logo for the Library that we could easily adapt to a Bookmobile logo.
