Hi there,

Hope your having a good week so far?

Here are some of my concepts. I've gone for something that's fairly clean and simple, yet striking. Creating an icon that works well within the logo or as a stand alone element, one that can be used for things like favicons or watermarks.

The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,

It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say.
I look forward to your comments or thoughts.

Regards,
Angus

Thanks Angus,

We really like your submissions. 32 is very unique but does not evoke the legal aspect. Can you play with it to make it maybe a column, a gavel and something else.

#33 and #34 are really fantastic but you can use the column in 34 on 33. Can you play around with other color schemes too. I know we asked for gold and green and it looks great, but we are not designers so any ideas you have we are open to.

Cheers

Hi James,

Thanks for the great feedback and comments, and would be my pleasure to work up some iterations!

Will work on those an resubmit.
Just one thing - #32 is actually meant to represent 3 columns all rotated over equal angles (if that makes sense) ... But will see what I can do with that as well.

Hi there,

Thanks again for the great feedback and comments, always appreciated!

And here are those variations. I've changed the icon around with the other typography, and created a few new colour combinations. The ones I've chosen, both colours are complimentary to each other, so will sit well - but are also good strong colours.

I look forward to your feedback.

The orange and blue is sharp in #51. They happen to be my school colors too.
Is it possible to use a font on the two letters in the column that has a stronger serif. Something that signifies Capital and Strength and looks like it may have been actually engraved on the column itself.

We will want to change the motto underneath but otherwise it is outstanding. Thanks again.

Hi there,

Strangely enough, blue and orange were part of my school colours as well :) great colours!!

Yes of course not a problem at all. And here it is: #55
I've changed the font, but also combined the letters together, and added some grey depth to make it look like its engraved on the there (hopefully you can see it at that size).

#55 looks great. I would suggest changing the other similar logos (including #33) to match that style. I would also like to see a variation of these with a white-grey color for the column and the other colors reserved for the background and lettering.

Also, see what you can do about incorporating the "P.L." into the logos.

Great work!

Hi there,

Not a problem at all, and here are those variations!
I've also tried a couple of different treatments for the "P.L."

Look forward to your comments and hope you have a great Saturday!

Great work! Although we only included one design, we really like several of your logos. I prefer to focus on #33 but 55, 32, & 34 are also among our favorites. 32 needs a little more work to detail the columns...see what you can come up with.

Thanks again!

Hi there,

Thanks again ... And regarding #32 - something like these perhaps: #81 and #82 ?
Basically I reworked the columns to be more in line with the other design.

Look forward to your thoughts.

Could you do a variation on #81 so that the columns are different colors like #32. Also, try that one without the lettering on the columns. Thanks!

Entry #84 & #85 look great. I have one more request though - I'd like to see the top ring of each pillar a different color than the pillar itself, e.g., green pillar/gold ring; gold pillar/green ring; grey pillar/dark grey ring (similar to the color of the lettering). The original pillar design you did with the green/gold is outstanding. I'd like to see if that works for this design too.

CORRECTION: The above comment is for #83 & #84.

We're down to the wire but I wanted to see if you're available to take #93, change the lettering from green to charcoal (keeping the gold ampersand), and moving "Leeds & Young" below the logo as "Leeds & Young, P.L." And using a similar dividing line.

Hi there,

Sadly I'm currently checking this remotely (had to shoot out for a while), so can't do it this very second.
However that said ... the person who's in first once its gone into judging can still submit changes. So I'm more than happy to do it when I get back behind my machine later today if that works for you?

Hi there,

Right finally managed to get back behind my machine :)
Here are those variations for you: #100, #101 and #102 (basically experimenting with the line, and whether to have non, one or two).

Look forward to your thoughts.

Thank you for those designs. However, I think we've decided to go away from the three-column design.
Could you use #65 and make a few variations? One variation i would like to see is the color for the column changed. Could we try it in dark grey and also in gold. The color band for the grey could be in gold and green (two separate designs), and the gold column could have a green band. Also, could you include the divider like design #92?

In addition, could we see #70 except with the blue changed to the same dark grey?

Thank you!

Thank you. They look good! Another change I'd like to see (especially for #109 & #110) is for the lettering on the column to look like it is wrapping around slightly rather than flat. I might also like the letter size on the column to be one size smaller.

Thank Angus.

Logo Designer
Hi there,

Not a problem at all. What I've done is two versions of wrapping
#111 - bigger curve, but less spread out
#112 - more subtle curve, but more spread out

I think they work, but personally I think I prefer the straight on version.

Speak to you soon.

I think we've narrowed it down to #110 (#112) as far as overall design and color goes. Regarding the column lettering, I was envisioning the L smaller at the far left as if it wrapped toward the viewer from left to right, with the &Y being about regular size since the viewer is looking at those almost head on.

However, I think the smaller font size might be good enough without the need for any distortion. If you could do that and add a small amount of space between each letter ("L & Y" instead of "L&Y"), we might be done.

Thanks again for the work!

Hi there,

Aah ok I got you ... Here are two new variations;

#113 - and this has the letters more spaced and slightly smaller
#114 - this has as per your feedback, with the L smaller on the left

My pleasure, thanks for a great project.

Angus,
I think #113 might be perfect! We're going to change the motto - we'll let you know soon what we want it to say - but let's get one more very minor change just to have the option. Can you repeat #113 but without lettering on the column.

Regarding #114, you did what I asked for but then I realized that my description was wrong!! I think the "L" (and maybe the "&" to a smaller extent) has to be squeezed rather than sized down! The height has to remain the same since the color band does. Otherwise there is a conflict in the two perspectives. In addition, the space between the "L" and the "&" would be slightly less than the space between the "&" and the "Y". If you could do that for us it would be great but #113 will be hard to beat.

Thanks very much for all of your hard work and responsiveness!

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay. I'd already turned off for the evening here in London :)

Not a problem at all.
#115 - without the letters
#116 - amended version of #114. I think it was also me misunderstanding so don't worry.

Look forward to hearing what the motto will change to.

No problem regarding the delay!

The designs look great and we´ll continue to build on #113. Can you edit the motto to read: "Attorneys at Law" and also another with "Attorneys & Counselors at Law" to see how they look.

Thanks very much!

Hi there,

Thanks for the motto's, here are both options for you:

#117 - same size as last motto
#118 - slightly smaller to make it fit better (as its longer)

Thanks, Angus. It will be a day or two before we get back with you but for now I have a question. What type of files will we receive from you? Will it be a single file or multiple scaled versions? And in what format? I'm not sure what to expect.

Thanks!

Angus,
I looked at the JPEG files. I cannot view the encapsulated file because I don't know what software is required, or if I have it. However, the JPEGs look great. The only request I have is to verify that the white background is actually transparent. That way, if we have the logo over a colored background, the background color will come through.

It would be preferred to have two versions of each image - one set with white backgrounds; one set with transparent backgrounds.

Thank you very much!
