I just noticed you had another active contest going, and I decided to throw my hat into the ring for this one as well! Here is my initial concept for your review—I thought it might be a good idea to have a strong established border/framing for the logo, as most logos in this industry do.

As you can see, the slick metallic border allows for the logo to look on both light and dark backgrounds!...

Just another possible variation for you, with some grass added to the background... It's all really about personal preference, but I figure the more options the better!
