Here are some of my concepts. I've gone for something that's fairly clean and simple, yet striking. Creating an icon that works well within the logo or as a stand alone element, one that can be used for things like favicons or watermarks.
The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,
It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say. I look forward to your comments or thoughts.
I wasn't the one to manage the contest last time (one of my employees was doing it), but I did see a few of them and do recognize these from the previous Ecolomique one ;-) Nothing wrong with re-using :D
We'll rank and post again in the morning once I get the client feedback. The quality of your submissions is very nice, but, as mentioned on the general board, they'll probably pick somehting simple in the end, just like last time, so feel free to submit any new concepts that might be more streamlined.
Thanks for the great feedback and comments, always appreciated! Here are a few new variations, hope the client likes them. And of course if you'd like to see any variations please do say.
The client really likes #3. However, the word "la boutique" is much bigger than "du jetable", which is actually more important. Can you play with the sizes so that the 2 are about the same size, or even "du jetable" slightly bigger than "laboutique" ?
The tint of blue may change from what you have when we get to the end, but we'll wait until the top 5 phase to discuss color. For now it is fine.
#25 and #26 feel too much like a restaurant, not like we're selling disposable dishware. Same for #28 and #29
Again, keep in mind the marketing positioning is low-cost / value for money.
Thanks again for the great comments ... Would be my pleasure to change that, not a problem at all.
And here are two variations. I've also tweaked the colour to slightly closer to the image you uploaded. But like you say, colour is something that can change at any stage.
Hi Ninet, New feedback from our clients! #50 : For some people asked for, to give their opinion, the composition does not seems to make any sense. Why a plate behind bowls?!
Well the reason for the plate was to add more elements of dishware - so plates, bowls and cutlery (not just bowls and utensils). I originally thought of having the plate under the bowls, but then the problem is that you don't see the plate as a plate, but more a shape under the bowls (i.e. not clear enough).
I hope that makes sense :) If the client would like to see I can remove the plate?
It's David again... Edouard and I take turns on this... ;-)
#61 got positive feedback, and I personnally like it too. It may soon move up in the rankings and replace the bowls, as it is clearer and esier to understand than the bowls.
Can we see a couple variations with colors closer to your #46 and #47 ?
#72 pleases some of the team members there too. I like #61 better though.
#69 - #70 - #71 - no go. "Looks like and ad for Batman" per client words. I found that pretty funny worded like that, but I can see what they mean ;-)
David here... Sorry, Saturday is shopping day with wife and kid... :)
Here is the client feedback:
#85 :a little too much red
#84 : nice work. to be explored further. Maybe do a mix between that and #85
#83 : the client does nto see the difference with #84 (I do, the blue is a little lighter. I personnaly prefer #84 better).
Overall, if I were to do the ranking on my own taste, I would have put your #84 in first position. But the client still wanted #76. No worries, there is still time and I will actually speak to them monday morning to give them my opinion... ;-)
I forgot: he did say he does like #102 and #101, even if there is no red.
What I will do in the morning, is do a dirty copy / paste of some of the logos on the website design we have done for them, so they can visualize it in situation.
1) Please remove the little white dot / hole at the top. It makes it look a bit like a US army ID tag. 2) Let's try to have the knike and spoon white as well (and maybe one more variation with the knife grey as it is but the spoon in white)
We may adjust the colors a bit more once we get to the final judging phase, but other than that, it's looking good !
Not a problem at all, would be my pleasure. And here are those variations. Of course if you or the client would like to see any others don't hesitate to ask.
It works really well with this simpler version. We have done a dirty screenshot / paste on our website design to see roughly how it would integrate, and it looks real good.
Small detail: the red we use in our design is a bit darker / fuller. Here is the hex color code: #C70000.
Other than that, no further comments from the client for now !
Final phase... The client is asking if they can see a few variations on #128, simply changing a bit the 4 little red "swooshes" on the outside of the medalion. Maybe just a different shape, or even a different idea (does not need to be 4 things for example). They liked it because it suggests a "recycle" theme. Voila, let me know if you have any questions...
They also asked for some small variations on logoku's design as it's really looking like it's playing out between you two, so I may switch your respective ranks over the next couple days to allow both of you to submit final designs.
Thanks for switching ... And here are a number of new combinations / options for yo guys to look at. I tried different angles, positions and shapes. I kept the original blue medallion as the focal point. Hopefully you guys like them. Of course if you'd like to see anything else just say.
Well, there it is... I am truly so sorry you didn't win... As you are probably used to, the people managing and ranking the contest all along are not always the ones who get to make the final decision... My contact and I both really like your #153... But in the end, the boss picked logoku... Good battle between you guys.
We will have other contests in the future, one of them probably in June - July, will be very high profile, and we will be our own client (so I will personally be the boss ;-)) . It will be for a platform about which I cannot give any details yet, but it will be very exciting !
Now that the contest is over, I think you can probably PM me. So if you are interested, send me a quick PM, and I will have your message so I can reply and let you know when our contest will start.
My most sincere thanks again for your very professional work.
Thanks for the message and for a great project (regardless of the outcome) - it was a good battle, and like you say at the end of the day the client needs to choose and be happy with the logo. After all its the face of the company, so must be what they like.
Well I very much look forward to those projects, and will definitely participate. For some reason I still can PM you, however you might be able to send me one (as you are the client)?? Either way I will definitely look out for the projects.
