Color Preferences
Do not want anything dark like Black or Gray. This is a property in Hawaii and colors should be appropriate to that.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Emma Spencer Living is the main company that currently owns four vacation properties and is still growing. The 2 slogans used is "This is living..." or "Luxurious Comfort Away from Home" Kolea Estate is one of the newest properties. Please see the website. http://www.emmaspencerliving.com to see all the logos for the current properties including the old one for Kolea Estate which we attached to this contest too. You can also readr more about the property which is a large house that has 2 parts and a pool in the middle.

Initially the plan was to have a consistent look for all properties that all logos would be like La Casa Colibri with the same font and a graphic representation of the property. That is why Kolea logo is so similar to the La Casa Colibri logo. However, we didn't like how the logo turned out cartoonish and like clip art and we also decided we wanted each property to have a unique brand.

Although we do like the idea of the logo graphically representing elements of the property, we don't want it to be too similar to the other properties anymore so we don't want it to be in that same format as La Casa Colibri anymore.

Kolea is a bird. Please see this link that describes the bird. http://emmaspencerliving.com/oahu-hawaii-accommodations/what-is-kolea/ Its not necessary to have the bird in the logo but if it can be worked in that is good.

This property is located in Kailua on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, it is at the base of the famous Koolau mountains which you can see represented in the current logo. This is a very special town that is loved by many. Obama is from here and comes to every Christmas. It has the world famous Lanikai Beach and Moke islands. However, we do not want the logo to imply the property is by the beach though it is very close. I just want to convey about this town so you can get an idea of where the property is and understand that if you represent mountains, that you make sure you research the Koolau Mountains because they have a very distinct and recognizable look.

Thank you for your entries. We are trying to move away from our old logo design. In looking at our emmaspencerliving.com web site, the newest logos for Volcano Village Lodge and 5th Street Ohana are new and different from Casa Colibri, our first property. We would like each property to have a unique logo design. We are leaning more toward the name text being the dominant image rather than picturesque images.
