What about adding some dimension to the icon on the left, even just a second accent color or some shading. That way we could use it as a single color, but the rest of the time it has some depth and pop.

the 3 dimensioning effect of entry #8 is good, there is some symbolism of a chemical reaction in entry #12 that speaks to our namesake

What about taking 9 and laying it out like #20. With the blue icon large on top.

And then possibly the same thing but have dzing & grafx extend all the way across underneath? Maybe underline katalyst or something.
