The faces in #250 and #249 are all a little too playful, not quite serious enough. We want to avoid specific political references from #243 #241. We're a journalism brand, so looking to add more value to the brand.
I like the super clean simplicity of #303 but also the retro feeling evoked in #307. I'm curious if you have ideason variation between those two styles? Some of the deal in #307 would be lost when viewed at small sizes.
Basically I'm using bold font and simple elements, so as not to lose the details in small sizes. I'll be working on this new entry, based on your feedback.
The versions similar to #479 look a bit too much like the AT&T logo.
We're settling on a strong typeface with accompanying symbol that embodies "smart," "quality," "journalism." We're trying to avoid cliches, so we're stepping away from the thought bubble idea. We like clean and simple design, like #303, though some have suggested it might be too "safe." It's close, though there is probably more room to experiment with how to evoke those key concepts in the symbol. The typeface generally works, though you could try some alternatives if you feel another can capture those ideas more clearly.
We just extended our contest one more day. We would like to see a few more designs with 89.5 and KACU. We would like to see your ideas with 89.5 being primary as well as KACU being primary.
Can you include 89.5 (we're changing our FM number) along with KACU? We'd like to see your perspective on how the two elements "89.5" and "KACU" can work together. We'd like to see KACU as most prominent in some versions, but also to see 89.5 as more prominent in other versions. We like the reverse white on dark in #303, but the number is too small to read when reduced to small sizes. We don't need "FM" in the logo. Thanks!
Ha! Your comment came just in time! I've been thinking and thinking on new concepts, but nothing "great" came to mind... 570+ entries, that's crazy! :)
I was thinking on something that stands for the community, but seems you still prefer the simple and clean design. Okay, I'll be working on these changes, will be back soon.
