What We Do
Large, privately owned printing company that works with publishers and organizations to produce high quality magazines, catalogs, multi-page commercial printing materials on paper that are multi page and longer press runs. Needs to show their customers they have advanced printing press technology, software and ability to work with high impact brand messaging to produce beautiful outcomes. The old logo was created 25 years ago for a daily newspaper... they no longer produce that!!

Color Preferences
blue similar to current logo as they are fond of it but add a second option to give it depth. Maybe hint of orange or grey or purple? Just give it some personality as they are printing art books, high impact magazines so creative but trusted.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Concept can be text along with a bug using the JG (doesn't have to be literal) to go along with the name Journal Graphics, maybe just a Northwest US icon since they are in Portland, Oregon. Or you can try creating a single logo with the name incorporated. Don't include the commercial printer.
