Hi Wolv, I really like your work. Of all the submissions, # 6 and then # 5 speak to me the most. I like the way you softened the arcs in the upper right hand corner (that complete the circle) with a lighter blue. I believe that could also be applied to the middle arc just below the horizontal line below the "G". Not necessarily that color, maybe a grey? A side note this is tricky to critique art. The advantage to # 6: it takes up less horizontal space. Some of my rough sketches have Jonathan on top of the Gilcrest. Also an offset approach could be tried. The Jonathan (above & to the left) & Gilcrest (below & to the right). After checking out your portfolio, I saw so much great work!! Particularly, the Harrison Brand. Please feel free to experiment with the color, as I don't want to limit the potential by the colors I picked. Also, create more dimension with the overall logo & letters. In looking Back to your portfolio, I thought the look of Stroops colors would fit in well with # 6. I also really liked Grantham Capital & Canadian CCC. I hope that these suggestions make sense. Thanks again,

Jonathan....

Hi Wolv, how are you? Out of all the submissions (you & everyone else), #30 & #31 stand out. I even had 2 members of my band, Yellow Brick Road in Las Vegas (a working cover band, not my solo project) & my mother looked at all of the choices. Great news Wolv, we all picked #30 & #31. I like the color choices too against the black as well as the white background. I have no experience with logo tournament. Although I haven't felt we've achieved a home run yet, I do feel most drawn to your ideas, and have a hunch I will be working with you in the future on some other projects. Because I am a hopeless perfectionist, working with me can be very challenging in achieving the final product. That being said, if I end up choosing your logo as the winner, but I'm still not 100% sold, we may end up in overtime where I hire you to do some final tweaks (is that ok with you?). I just don't want to be unfair & ask beyond what I have paid for, so please help me understand the guidelines. I know that you have put much time into this already. I have a couple more ideas to apply. Can you experiment with using some 3D effect/texture to the letters just to make it pop a little more? I would love to send you a photo or 2, but I'm not sure how to do that. Check out the "Resident Evil Retribution" movie trailer on Youtube. At the end of the trailer, you will see the movie title. It's pretty striking. So much dimension. Well, I guess that's all for now

PS. Here's my email: jegmusic65@hotmail.com in case you want to provide me a separate email to send some example pics your way. I can also privately post a video or 2 on Youtube, or a website, of my original material to give you a taste of where I am coming from as an artist. This might also be helpful. Goodnight Wolv....

hi Jonathan!
really great news :) it's nice to work with you too :) you always give thorough feedback so i don;t have to guess what you want on the logo. well you can always pick the winner anytime if you think you got the logo right. for me i can always do minor updates even after the contest over. it's like color updates, effects, or maybe font, it's part of my service and it's free. you can even have the variations of the winning design after the contest.

however since this is still a contest, per logo tournament rule, i'm not suppose to contact you outside logotournament.com including email, except this board. so i'm really sorry if i can't contact you via email right now. i have to wait until the contest complete (after winner selection, which you can do it at anytime) before i can send you email. if you want to post attachment (image or video) you can post it in public area of the contest page.

yes of course, i think i kind of understand what you mean with the dimension. will google and download the resident evil move trailer for sure. will update the design next. thanks

Hey Wolv, I'm not sure the upgrades you did (with the 3d effect) was quite was I was looking for. I wanted it to pop more, be more crisp. It seemed to lose some of it's edge, or focus. Thanks bud !! Talk to you soon.

One thing I do like in #38 was the JG (as well as the name) has a sense of depth that it didn't have before. My last comment still applies. The problem was even more obvious in #39 when you put it on a white background. #31 & #30 are universally consistent, white or black background. It will read no matter where you place it.

yep, i know what you mean. will try some stuff to make it pop more. using other techniques, and probably some different color on the shades.

hi Jonathan,
before the update i was over-done the effects on the logo, so it looks lost. but now i think i can make it more crisp by reducing the depth and using different gradients/shades.
#61 #62 is the result. but i still think it's too much especially with the shades. so i tone it down again in #65 and #66. it has depth and looks more consistent and not overdone.

Hey Wolv, just checking in with you. Did you get paid ok? I want to make sure I took care of the final steps for you. I also wanted to ask you about a few more color combinations. I can pay you extra. What I have in mind should be very easy to achieve in a very short amount of time. I noticed that these logos are in the Creative Suites program (very cool). I can also purchase Creative Suites & experiment on my own if you become too busy. Also, do I have the green light to Copyright © my logo? Is there anything else I need to sign off on. Just checking. I will also need a new logo for my production company "JEGWYN Productions". I can certainly do Logo Tournament again, or just hire you privately. What are your prices? Please write back when time permits. take care.
