simple, strong, one color logo can be reproduced for less $. Plug prongs in the negative space of the 'hn' in John.

We really like this - Example #17. At first we had to look closely to see that it was a plug. We think "Electrical Services" is going to need to be much larger to let people know what we do. Would like to see the plug and cord in Black and the yellow a bright yellow. Want something very bright that catches the eye. Also like Royal Blue and Red or Navy and Red. Great work!

here are some updated color versions with your requests...electrical services is now larger too. let me know if you see any other areas that you want improved. thanks.

here is a different plug where it appears to be facing you more...the extra white space is the 'face' of the plug where the metal comes out of...(if that makes sense)

I like this. This plug looks more real. Still think "Electrical Services" needs to be larger, even if you have to increase the size of the logo. I would like to see this with bright orange in place of the yellow and bright red in place of the yellow. Thanks!

We would like to see this with "Electrical Services" larger and replacing yellow with bright red and bright orange. Thanks!

i still felt i could make the end of the plug look more realistic so here are those same colors you wanted to see with the more detailed plug. also note i increased the size of the words 'electrical services' and the logo itself.

Let me know if i can make any other revisions or color changes for you. we can fine tune the coloring if you have more ideas in mind.

thanks for the ranking!

I like the improvement on the plug. I am wondering how the logo would look if "John Jones Electrical Services" was the same red as the red outside the circle. But leave the cord and plug black. Also wondering if you can enlarge "ELECTRICAL SERVICES" a little more. Really want people to see what we do. Thank you!

here is the latest version with your requests. i am also uploading one with black outlines around the red letters.

also i was thinking for the space at the bottom left, to the right of the plug might be a good place for your 'Established 19xx' date...whatever year that may be. Just a thought.

We like example #31 with the black outlines. Can we see it with removing the black outlines from "ELECTRICAL SERVICES" only. We are finding "Electrical Services" a little harder to read. We are concerned adding "Established 1986" might look too crowded. But we like your ideas. We are thinking of adding something like "Professional Service since 1986" under the logo. Great work, Kyle!!

took off the black around 'electrical services'
here is one with the slogan below and one with 'established 1986' in the white space at the bottom left of the logo.

Hard to decide between Entry 31, 32 and 33. Great job!

Hi Kyle,

In Entry #33, which we have as first, is there any way you can leave the center of the "e" in "Jones" white, so it will be easier to read? The solid black makes it a little harder to read. Just wondering.

Thank you!

Hello Peggy,
Sure I can do that. Here is a version where white has been added to the middle of the ''e'. Still wanted to keep a little black on the edge too (because all the other letters with knock out shapes still have a black stroke on the inside, and i didn't want it to look out of place).

on a side note,
The vibrant red will look great on the web (on computer screens), but these bright colors do not reproduce the same in print (because the screen colors are RGB and printing in the real world is CMYK)

so i suggest you pick a pantone red color (or other if you're not set on red) from this link
http://www.d-zignsinc.com/view/pantone.html

when you pick the exact color you like, just give me the color # and I can apply it to the logo.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Entry #39 looks better with the white in the "e". Question: Is the "John Jones" in entry #25 larger than the "John Jones" in entry #39 because the "Electrical Services" is smaller? Or maybe because #39 has the black outline? I know #25 is in black but the "John Jones" seems larger. "Electrical Services" does need to be at least as big as you have it in #39, so don't change that, please. I looked at the color chart you suggested and there are several reds we like. Numbers 1795, 1797, 1805. Also 185, 186, and 711 (although they may end up looking too pink). Number 648 is Navy which we also like. Once we finalize this, will we be able to have our sign company change colors is necessary? Thanks for all your help! You have been great to work with!

to answer your question:
#39 and #25 are exactly the same height (going from the outside of the black stroke on #39)
#25 is a bit longer overall and #39 a bit more condensed. The black stroke on #39 and the size differences in the 'electrical services' do give it an illusion of being smaller and I also think the bulk of the plug in #25 also makes it look bigger than the newest version of the plug in #39.

I can explore making the John Jones even larger if you like...maybe even have the black stroke touch the 'cord' which encompasses the whole thing. i will try that and do a few versions in the colors you specified first thing tomorrow.

As for the other question: Yes. the EPS file i will give you is 100% editable and scaleable.
Your sign company will be able to make it any color you choose (should you want a change after i get you the file). They will (should) have color books, much like the online one you chose the reds from, just many, many more options to choose from. They even have options with metallic, shiny ink colors these days...so they can really do some awesome stuff to make it pop.

Let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer any I can.

Kyle

here is one where everything is larger inside the oval

here are the colors you specified. note that these are the version that is currently in first, not the slightly larger one i just uploaded. since your sign printer will be able to change the colors, it isn't a big deal to pinpoint the exact shade of red, but this can give you a better idea.

this one is 1795

Entry #40 - I like everything larger inside the oval, but I do like there being a little more space between the first "J" and the cord, it that makes since. The oval may need to be expanded just a little, also. We are still discussing colors. Another thought, should "Professional Service since 1986" be a little larger? I extended the contest because we are going out of town Fri and will not be back until next Tues. That will give a little more time for final changes. Thanks! We are getting close!

I found some typos and spelling mistakes in my last comment. Sorry. Entry #40 - I like everything larger inside the oval, but I do like there being a little more space between the first "J" and the cord, if (typo correction from last comment I sent) that makes sense(spelling correction). The oval may need to be expanded just a little, also.

no problem on the typos. i got waht you meant.
here is a bit more space before the 1st J and also bumped up the size of the slogan.

let me know if there's anything else.

Hello Kyle,

Is Entry #39 the same color as Entry #45? Thanks.

Logo Designer
yes same color, only difference is that 45 has John Jones slightly larger and the first J and last S are closer to the surrounding cord than in 39
14 years ago

Can we see #45 with the oval a little larger so the first J and the last S are farther away from the surrounding cord. And maybe make "Electrical Services" a little larger, too. I would like to see what it looks like with more white showing. The contest is almost completed. Thank you so much for all of your help!

I still like #45 best. Can you make "Electrical Services" any larger or bolder in #45? I like the larger "Electrical Services" in #47. The "John Jones" looks a little lost in the larger oval though. Can any revisions be made once the contest is over? Thanks Kyle!

Logo Designer
yes i can make additional revisions after the contest ends. i will work on using a bolder font for electrical services

I like the bolder font for "Electrical Services". Can you leave the "Services" offset closer to the plug like it is in #45?

Hi Kyle,

We have one more request. We have almost decided on Entry #53. But in earlier revisions you mentioned #25 is a bit longer overall. Will you make #53 a bit longer so we can see if it is easier to read. We are concerned that the "e" and "s" in "Jones" is a little hard to read from a distance. We are wondering if making it a little longer overall will make a difference. Thanks for all your help!

Logo Designer
here is one about as long as i can make it. the difference isn't much, but i also tried to open up the white space in the 'e' slightly too-- to see if that will help. let me know what you think.
