Jiu Jitsu ProLogo Design Contest

Jiu Jitsu is Japanese for "Gentle Art" or "Gentle Technique". It is the parent martial art of many other arts, such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Aikido and some forms of Karate. Jiu Jitsu Pro is a company that sells clothes, uniforms, equipment and training gear to students and athletes. The Japanese kanji (writing) attached as an AI file are the characters for "Jiu Jitsu".

Some general feedback from one of the owners:

I appreciate subtly — for example, the negative arrow in the FedEx logo. It's clever, bold while being subtle.
Black and Red and the obvious colour choices, but things like Charcoal and Lime can be interesting too.
I don't like gradients in typography.
I like the Affliction clothing line www.afflictionclothing.com/
Not a fan of cliche ... this is a martial arts company, but it doesn't have to use "Asian-Style" typography to get the point across.

Just added another concept to play with, a vector of flying armbar ... fuel for thought. Would love to see this concept developed further.
