thanks for your logo! i really like how you have taken a name (Jimmy & Friends) that can sound childish and make it into a refined logo; because this logo is going to be used on all the product packaging, website and advertisements (and the brand is going to be an upmarket pet care line). You have encorporated all the bits into it which is excellent; there is a dog reference, the slogan, and the brand name.
I did however have in my mind a logo that is a little bit more modern. I like the modern typeface of 'natural botanical pet care', but the overall logo looks more traditional because of the typeface of Jimmy & Friends, and the image of a black jimmy jumping. I am going for a modern look as the packaging I am using is going to be amber bottles with black caps (and although I can use colour, I prefer to use labelling that is simple black and white to go with the amber bottles); very much along the lines of Aesop but with more simple labelling. I think if i used this logo on the bottles it wouldn't be striking enough for a innercity yuppie or modern family to pick it off the shelf and buy it. Please dont remove your logo - i really do like it, i just had in my mind something a little less traditional 'natural products' and more modern exciting 'natural products', i hope that makes sense :)
Re #3; i like how you have used more modern text for 'jimmy and friends'; is it possible to make this more bold as it needs to be a bit more striking? I am not to sure about the sun around jimmy, i do love how you have tried to encorporate a jimmy reference into the logo but the picture of the dog looks seperate from the rest of the logo (is it possible to try putting it in the same line as the wording or alternatively incorporating a dog reference into the text somehow?) Another concern my labeller mentioned to me about the dog, is that it may look like a smudge on my smallest label; (my smallest bottle size is 50ml, and the front label will only be 3cm wide by 6cm long); I am sorry i didn't mention this to you sooner as we are revising the logos together - I hope this feedback helps, would love to see another revision if you are up for it :)
tks husk! after going that bold i think i prefer your original design #3, and the border isn't working for me because it cheapens the brand. You have however given me a good idea of running the logo up lengthways vertically along the bottle which should look pretty cool and different, tks for that - something to consider! i still think the dog has to be more encorporated into the logo somehow; would it work if we reduced the size of the & and tried to put the picture of the dog closer so it fits within the text and not above it? the only other thing i can think of is whether some other dog reference can be used with the text; or if the dog is put at the end of the text somehow. anyway - thanks verymuch for your revisions, i guess we'll see if anyone else wants to suggest some other designs also.
hi husk - is there anyway that we can make the picture of the dog more clear in the logo #8?i am finding that alot of people can not recognise what it is
is it possible also to change the wording to 'NATURAL BOTANIC PET CARE' .... and make the slogan just a bit bigger, im finding that when the logo is scaled down for labelling, it becomes difficult to read.
hi husk - tks for the updated design, but unfortunatly i think this is harder to read then the original. is there anyway we can take the original and try and make it a little more obvious that it is a dog? if not, then i understand.
