Thank you very much or your submission. We like your style very much. To us, logos #49, #50 and #48 imply people working together, modern and adaptable. We also like the shades of blue. In #49, we like the feeling of a complicated problem - a knot - the surface of the shape feels like a Mobius strip (http://www.susqu.edu/brakke/knots/knot32mH.gif).
Three requests: 1) Can you make the shape have more surface, depth or dimension? It feels too thin and delicate. 2) Can you make the name larger so that it is legible when we use the logo in a small size. 3) Can you show us a version without using the six-pointed star. Try another shape. Or no specific shape - maybe something that is asymmetrical - but still communicates "professional people working together to solve my difficult problem." (The style your firm used on Napa Sonoma Wine Festival is interesting - it is TOO free-flowing, but definitely not symmetrical.)
Yours is our current favorite design. We love the graceful curves, the representation of people and the colors. Our request is that you make changes that will make it "softer." We're not sure how to tell you to do that, but it feels too "hard" to us, since we are a social service agency.
By "softer" we don't mean "less contrast." (#206, #207). And we like the blue and gold colors you chose in #184.
Maybe the words 'Jewish Family Service' should be wrapped around the star-shape in a circle. Or move through it. Or wrap under it in a 'U' shape. Or maybe a shadow behind the star-shape, it as if it were mounted on a wall. Or maybe the ribbons could be wider to give it more weight.
