I've noticed you mentioned in your brief that you wanted a sub in your logo. So I have illustrated one of my favorite subs from scratch -- a philly steak sub, complete with mushrooms, American cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. Mmmm! Gets me hungry just thinking about it, so good!
Also, in your brief you mentioned in the future you will not include the Jacobs & Toney name. So, the design I've created for you gives you the option to replace that text with a different name completely. Or, if you're not replacing it with another name, the space it occupies could contain a tag line. Ideal tag lines are 1 to 3 words in length (like, "fresh meals daily" or "enjoy freshness"), so this space is ideal for that type of placement.
Each logo submission is 100% vector, so they'll scale well to any size, and work well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed.

Please note: although I had been working on a logo that included the sub since my first submissions, I did not see your public comment until a few minutes before I uploaded. HI Jennifer, Thanks for your feedback. Deli and Meat store of the north needs to be the primary name. Home of the famous sub is what we are known for. If is is to much verbiage lets eliminates Jacobs and Toney. The sub logo needs to be different that would separate us from others. Thanks again, Howard
Thanks for letting me know that. Now that I'm told "Jacobs & Toney" can be taken out, it makes this whole process go even smoother. And, you're right -- there was too much verbiage there. So I've gone ahead and made "Meat Store of the North" the main focus of the logo's text, and included the sub from earlier. I've even placed your tag line there, "Home of the Famous Sub." It works much better now.
Please tell me what you think on this one too. Now, if you do/do not like the sub...as it's a main focus of the design at this point, let me know and I'll come up with something else.
Looking so much better, can you make "Deli and Meat store of the north" a unique type set. Also would you make the sandwich pic unique to us? Feel free to go outside the the box"norm" we are open to anything. Thanks, Howard
Just wondering: is there any particular reason why you feel the sandwich pic is not unique to you? The sub was hand-drawn by me personally, from scratch; it is not clip art, if that is what you are afraid of. It is entirely unique in the sense that there is no other sub exactly like it. It was created just for you. And it was fun to draw, let me tell you that. So if you would, please elaborate on that.
As for the type, you mentioned that you want a "unique type set" for the logo. As far as the type goes, I can make something from scratch for the type as well. So if you would please define what you consider "unique" for the font, please do so.
In my mind, unique type means "drawn from scratch." But perhaps you're just asking for something more "funky/unusual/unconventional." If it's the latter, please provide examples to more "unique" (funky/unusual/unconventional) fonts that you feel express this quality. That helps! We're all speaking with each other in typed words here, which is hard to express visual terms with accurately. Examples that are visual in nature really help, so feel free to mention examples I can google on the 'net or paste links in here directly. I believe that's the shortest point from A to B.

Okay, so...I've done something a little unconventional. I've created a submarine sandwich....with a top bun that resembles mountains, to signify the region you're in. :) It's a little unusual, but I think you'll go for it. You were looking for something distinctive, right? I think this is more along the lines of what you wanted.
I've also used a striking typeface, one that resembles type used in literature used back in the day of explorers, when mountain climbing was somewhat new. When the Titanic was new. When old-time explorers were rugged mountain men.

I'm continuing to experiment with a few different typefaces. Just uploaded a version that includes a handwritten script at the bottom, for the tag line. The "Deli & Meat Store of the North" text has been updated as well.
I'm keeping the sub with the mountain-like appearance in the bun in there; if you would like a different approach for the sub, please let me know. If you like this approach for the sub, please let me know that as well. Either way, it would be appreciated. That way, I can continue to develop this concept or come up with something completely different for you.
P.S.: What do you think of the new font used for the tag line? If you do/do not like it, please let me know either way. And, if you don't like it, please let me know just what it is about it that you dislike. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
It looks as though you reeeaallly like Baco's designs, which gives me the impression that you probably have already decided upon his design as the winner. So, knowing that you're taken care of, I'll gracefully bow out of the contest now. I was working on an alternate concept, but I'm thinking you're already so sold on Baco's designs, it probably would be moot for me to continue.
