OPTION 1 - #208 WHAT’S WORKING: • Simple, clean design. • Clean read on ‘Maintenance’ text • Js type is clean, classic font. • Use of the oval to make the branch ok. WHAT’S NOT WORKING: • Overall balance is off. ‘Js’ Icon is too large. ADJUSTMENTS NEEDED: • Adjust the scale of the logo bug to the ‘Maintenance’ text, approximately -15%. Try a few different options.
OPTION 2 - #151 WHAT’S WORKING: • Clean overall design. • Simple shape. • Clean read on ‘Maintenance’ text. • Better balance overall. • Leaf at top looks better in this iteration. WHAT’S NOT WORKING: • The italic type for ‘Maintenance’ is ok. • Leaf at top looks rather arbitrary and stuck on. • Still seems to be too much space around the ‘J’. ADJUSTMENTS NEEDED: • Try the ‘Maintenance’ text in non-italic. • Try adding in a leaf element coming from the stem on the left above the ‘J’. • Make the border on the left slightly thinner.
OPTION 3 - #213 WHAT’S WORKING: • Clean overall design. • Simple shape. • Clean read on ‘Maintenance’ text. • Better read on the ‘Since’ text. WHAT’S NOT WORKING: • The star on top. • The branch seems a little clunky. ADJUSTMENTS NEEDED: • Remove the star at the top. Seems stuck on and arbitrary. • Work on the leaf/branch. Try removing the branch and just having the leaf element in that space serving as the apostrophe. • Simplify the logo icon. Try an option where the extra white borders around the green outer border is removed. • Initial Caps on ‘Since’.
OPTION 5 - #181 WHAT’S WORKING: • Simple, clean design. • Curl on corner of logo is OK. • Could work stacked or horizontal. • Non italic on ‘Maintenance’ text is better on Option #195. WHAT’S NOT WORKING: • The fix of this design (Option #195) did not progress the logo forward. Overall, it was a step back. • The italic type for ‘Maintenance’ • The ‘Since’ text disappears when the logo gets small. Legibility! ADJUSTMENTS NEEDED: • Give space between the J and S where they come close at the bottom. • Incorporate non-italic type for ‘Maintenance.’ • Slightly larger ‘Since 1969’ text. Initial Caps on ‘Since.’ • Try a version without the page curl element. Why is this element included anyway? What is it’s purpose? • Try a version with a border.
