I guess I just have a different view of what makes an effective logo. I think a logo has to stand out, be memorable and maintain brand identity across multiple media (ie. works well in a single color and full color applications). To that end the ubiquitous "@" driven text logo doesn't really deliver to me. Besides the fact it is absolutely not what the CH asked for...the description asked for an "emblem" not a "wordmark" which is what mare submitted.

But these are just the opinions of the second place idea...

...Oh, and congrats on the gold mare!
