I LOVE #75 and #76. Very creative and artistic. I love two things about #75: - all the layers coming together to form the brain - how it wraps around the name. It makes it looks like the name and the picture are one logo. But in #76 it looks like the logo is separate from the name and its just sitting on top of it.
Also, would like to see "Augmented Reality" in the logo if possible. Love your creativity. Please submit more designs:)
I LOVE #101. I really like the grey background (particularly since they call the brain the "grey matter"). Lets keep "Augmented Reality" in the logo. I like it. I am not sure yet which font I prefer, #100, or #101. But in both cases I like how "Inter" and "aptix" look different. It makes it easier to read the word.
One suggestion for #101: right now you have 10 colourful shapes; what if you add a few more to it. I am thinking that with a few more shapes overlaid on top it might become more immediately obvious that it's a brain (to someone who doesn't know what the company is about).
The reason I like #101 more than #76 is because of overlaying the shapes and the idea of having layers. The brain has layers and also with what I do with overlay information on top of what people see. So it really works.
Thank you for the great designs. I really love them. Looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks for the comments. I will submit new variations soon.
Also, thank you for informing me about the other designs that you found. I ensure you that I first of all want to be creative and original. As I saw the other designs I strongly believe that are very similar to each other but very different from mine. First of all the shape of the brain. Mine is more abstract than the others and I wanted to be like this. And second, the layers that the shapes makes, as you mention. I wanted to feel more "layer-ly" 3D than just 3D, as this is the way I understood what "Interaptix" is and do. This reason is my strongest too! This is what makes the biggest difference and says what this company is about...
Greetings from a sunny - hot Greek day ! :) Alexander
I really love what you have done so far and I too think it's different original and MUCH nicer that those logos. I just wanted to point them out to make sure that we continue to go in a different direction than those (since I don't really like those all that much). They look more like a CAD drawing than anything artistic.
I do apologize if my commented sounded like I was suggesting your design is like those. That was not my intentions (it was late at night here when I wrote that message).
Looking forward to seeing your new designs, Greetings to you from a raining Toronto day.
No offense taken! I just wanted to tell you that I really didn't have these logos in my mind when I did yours! Many logos looks like others. I want to make a difference with what I design.
I had some work here in my office and had not time to work much on yours... sorry for that. I will try to submit new variation in the next hour. Then I will come back tomorrow first thing in the morning. Meanwhile if you have any thoughts you are welcome.
#145 I make few changes to the brain and the shapes inside so the fit better. I have to leave my office now, but you can send me your comments - ideas. I will read them from my phone.
I absolutely LOVE your work. It is very different than the more conventional logos that I am used to but I am so glad that you came up with this idea.
Here are some thoughts: - after looking over all your designs (about a hundred times) I think there is something nicer about the one without the grey background (#100). The colours are more vibrant. I also LOVE the abstractness of it.... how simple geometric shapes come loosely together in layers and the outcome is that they form a brain (some thing "intelligence")... that's brilliant. So that's why I've moved your original #100 as my first choice.
- #145 is great too... but for the reason that I just described, I think I'll like it more without the grey background. Can I see it without the grey. The grey seems to not only mute the colours but also constraint the image... . There is something special about #100 that adding the grey seems to take away.
- I love something about all your designs (#99, #100, #109, #145). So I'd like to see more variation if you got any ideas.
- One concern with #100 and #99 is that I don't want people to look at it and think that it's an artist's palette. I think because of the shape and all the colours people might think that. Which is why I asked to add more shapes to get it to look more like a brain. #145 definitely solves that problem. So if it wasn't for this one issue... I'd go for #100 for sure... is there anything that we can do about that?
Anyway... these are just some thoughts. Thanks again for the great ideas.
Good morning! Another hot day here in Greece, but you gave me good news, so it will be a great day! :)
New variations: #155, #156, #157. As you have noticed colors in #100 are little different from #145 (besides the grey background) So what I did now. #157 is with the colors of #100 and #155, #156 with the colors of #145.
I like both #156, #157 colors, shapes and fonts... I will leave it to you ;)
I love the colours and simplicity of #100 best. But everyone tells me that it doesn't remind them of a brain. I like what you did with #156. Can you try something like that with #100. Maybe you can do a couple of variations: one where the outline is more round (like #156 but different than #109) and another one where the outline is more wrinkly like a brain (I realize that it might end up looking like a cloud which is NOT the effect I want)
I'll leave it up to you to come up with a creative fix. I'd love to see as many variations as possible. Ideally I want to wrap this contest up by Friday so that I can get stuff printed. So I'd really like to do all the tweaking by then and hopefully be done soon.
In addition to the comments I already sent you that you said you'll work on in the morning, here are a few other notes:
- I think the "augmented reality" text has to be a bit bigger. I am worried that people won't be able to read it on a business card. - In #100 the image is a bit large compared to the text. I like the image to text proportion that you have in #101 better. - I think I prefer the font in #100 over #156.
Hello! (by the way you didn't mention your name...!) Good morning from here and probably good night for there! Sorry for yesterday but I had some work to do here for my office and met some clients... I have submit new variations #190, #191, #192, #193 that as you can see the brain is more obvious. The colors are vibrant as we wanted and I feel that the fonts are more visual now. (I can make the "augmented reality" darker if you like). Will wait your thoughts.
Hope your meetings went well yesterday. Thanks for the updates. I like #193. I like how the grey line is not uniform and changes thickness.
But what I was saying before was that I LOVE #100 and I was hoping that we could add an outline to that and make that one look a bit more brain like. The new ones you added are all based on #156 and that one already did look like a brain. I am hoping we can do a bit more with #100.
#190-#192 are maybe a bit too much. When I suggested adding the wrinkles what I had in mind was just in the outline and not going over the shapes. It was just a thought...
So here are two requests: 1- for #100 can you please do one that has an outline similar to the one you did in #193. Also if you think a different kind of outline would make it look more like a brain then I'd like to see that too. 2- for #157 can you redo this one with the same outline as #193. The reason I am asking is because I like the way the shapes are not trimmed to form smooth boundary.
Hopefully we can finalize this tomorrow (Canada time).
My name is Bardia by the way. Almost 2am here now... must go to bed. Have a good day.
Thanks for the updates. I just re-ranked them and here are my comments:
- The reason I LOVE #100 as my first choice is its simplicity. Something every elegant about that. - The other thing I like about #100 is the way the image kind of wraps around the text a bit making them one integrated logo - I visually like #196 a lot, but I am just worried that people will think that I sell art supplies since the logo can be mis-interpreted as an artist's easel. Somehow - I love the colours in #100 and # 193 so lets keep working with those.
Now, here is some specific suggestions: - Can you do a version of #193, but remove a few shapes to make is a bit simpler like #100. For example the small yellow triangle that is on top of a purple shape near the back of the brain can be removed. Or the two pieces (yellow and grey) that form the brain stem (the tail part) can be replace with just one shape. - I think the "augmented reality" could still be made bigger or more readable.
Thanks for the hard work. We are getting very close to getting it perfect:) It's gonna be sunny one here too today;) Bardia
Sunny? Thats great. The sun makes my day! I work better and feel happier! It gives me life! Who doesn't like it? You should be here :) ! Almost all the year specialy summer is sunny and hot.
#207 and #208 are definitely great. As far as the ones with the brain stem goes those are the best. Can you please do one quick variation of #207 for me: take out the outline and move the long blue piece that's at the bottom (the brain stem) up a little bit so that it's a bit shorter. Move it up such that more of it is covered by the green and orange pieces.
The thing I LOVE the most about #100 (which is why I am stuck on that as my 1st choice) is it's abstractness. So I am hoping by making the changes I suggested to #207 then we'll get that effect but with a shape that reminds people of a brain more. The other thing I love about #100 is how the image wraps around the text. But can't have that with the brain border drawn like #207.
Visually I love #196 but the outline definitely makes it look like an artist's easel so that's not gonna work. The reason I have it in first place is because I like the proportion of the image to text more than #100. So can you also do a variation of #196 without the boarder and move it a bit closer to the text so it wraps it up like you did in #100.
Last minor point, regarding the text for "augmented reality"... can you just try a few more things with that. I do NOT like the bold face. I like the original font from #100 but need it bigger. Maybe play around with having it as long as "Interaptix" or maybe put "augmented" before the 'P' and "reality" after the 'P'. Or any other good ideas you might have.
So, in summary: - #207 image without the boarder and with the blue piece moved up - #196 image without the border and moved a bit closer to the text - play around with more ideas to make "augmented reality" more visible
Thanks so much Alexander, PS We get enough sun here too... but in winters it's VERY cold but we don't have any mountains to ski on and in the summer it's HOT and humid but we don't have good beaches to cool down :( Where in Greece are you? My sister in-laws family is from Greece. There is a big Greek community here in Toronto. Lots of Greek restaurants and street festivals.
By the way, I live in Thessaloniki (Salonica), which is a very nice city but as Toronto has much humid.... so when it's hot...its REAL hot! Thank God we've got Chalkidiki penisula near with lovely beaches!
Thanks for the updates. I'll have to look at them carefully and will let you know in a few minutes (this website doesn't let me open two side by side in a larger window so sometimes it's hard to compare).
By the way, what do you think of font size for "augmented reality". To be honest, I just want to make sure people can read it on a business card... that's it. I think it looked nicer when it was all under "Inter".
Well, it's not an easy one choice... I'm sure I like #213 very very much as it is but #212 comes very very close to my first choise. It's more "brainy" if you know what I mean. The overall shape makes your mind to understand that it is a brain. #213 you have to read the company name to understand better what it is. #212 doesn't have to have any words.... I also like the one with the darker border (#208). The backround is white, but this is secondary. We can make that any color we need at a time. So, in the end, I would prefer #212. Let me send you few font variations of it.
I think I liked the bold face better (#213, #212). In fact I much preferred having "augmented reality" all the way on the left like #196. But I think that's too small. So let's go with #213.
I've also made my final decision. I am going to go with #213:) That was your original design and it's very cool. It's not as obvious that it's a brain like the other one but it's cool.
I just need one tiny modification... can you move the image 1mm up. It's a bit too close to the dot in the ' i '. But don't move it too much. Just 1mm. Then it's perfect.
Thank you Alexander. That is it. You've done it. It's perfect now. Do you feel that "augmented reality" is big enough for a business card?
So what's the next step? Do I just hit the "end contest early" button?
By the way, can you help me with a business card? It can be very simple. White background, name, number, email. I just need something I can send to the printer tomorrow so I can have it ready by Monday.
Thanks so much for the hard work and all the creative ideas.
Thank you very much Bardia! I'm not sure about the "end contest early" button. Never asked that before! But as I can understand that must be the button! I can help you with your business card all other design work that you might need (letterheads, brochures, etc.) but it out off the Logotournament page. We have to communicate via email. Mine is alexander.logodesigner@gmail.com When exactly do you need the card design? I can give you few ideas in a couple of hours.
