I've been running this logo contest past a lot of my colleagues and #38 has come out on top a lot. I'm on the fence about the font. Think you can experiment with some more font choices?
Thanks for the feedback I have to ask a question: Do you want the logo to stand out or to blend in with the site. Because using the same colors you have in your website, which are relatively scattered, will not make it stand out.
I would like it to look like it belongs with the site. I don't want it to blend in so much that is it gets lost and not seen at all. But I also don't want it to stand out and and distract from the content.
Can I get you to continue to experiment with fonts. I really like what #74 did with the font. Simple and professional yet still subtly unique (and yet still matches the look and feel of the site).
I like that font better. Not so sure about the colored icon though. Can you try some different color combinations. Maybe a bit less white. Not no white, just a bit less.
A concept I had in my original brief that I've only see one other designer attempt, I think might work well with your design. My original idea was to have 1s and 0s somehow transitioning into "pixels". Turn some of those lose boxes in the top left into 1s and 0s and see if you can run with that idea a bit.
I agree that it looks better a little smaller, good call.
I like where you were going with "inspired" in blue but when I pasted it into a screenshot of the site the blue didn't seem to work well with the rest of the blues of the site.I can't put my finger on whats off about it though.
While your at it can you try putting "Inspired" in a font like #96 ans for "Inspired" but leave "Bytes" in the font you currently have it.
I am having a very hard time deciding between the top 6 entries. I did want to give you a heads up for when I finally decide. I'd like the winning version against a transparent bg (I believe this is the industry standard is it not). I'd like a version that looks good against a white bg and a solid black & white version.
With an hour left I'm not sure if there's time to get in one last request but I'm going to try.
Think you can make the squares slightly beveled like #199. Don't go overboard that it looks glossy. Subtly is key. I like the way #199 matches the look of my icons on my site very well. (http://worent.com/logos/199.jpg)
