Discussion

I've been running this logo contest past a lot of my colleagues and #38 has come out on top a lot. I'm on the fence about the font. Think you can experiment with some more font choices?

#71 is interesting. I think I like the logo to the left a bit better but will have to stew on it for a bit.

Tough call between the solid look of #71 and the gradient look of #63. Will have to think about this.

While I've tended toward the simple designs, #80 is a bit too simple for what I want.

I have to ask a question: Do you want the logo to stand out or to blend in with the site. Because using the same colors you have in your website, which are relatively scattered, will not make it stand out.

I would like it to look like it belongs with the site. I don't want it to blend in so much that is it gets lost and not seen at all. But I also don't want it to stand out and and distract from the content.

Can I get you to continue to experiment with fonts. I really like what #74 did with the font. Simple and professional yet still subtly unique (and yet still matches the look and feel of the site).

customized font and changed icon colors
Hope you like it.

I like that font better. Not so sure about the colored icon though. Can you try some different color combinations. Maybe a bit less white. Not no white, just a bit less.

not really digging the colors on #92. On the fence on the colors for #91 (see previous comment).

A concept I had in my original brief that I've only see one other designer attempt, I think might work well with your design. My original idea was to have 1s and 0s somehow transitioning into "pixels". Turn some of those lose boxes in the top left into 1s and 0s and see if you can run with that idea a bit.

We're on to something with #129. Can you make the font a wee bit thinner?

Maybe try a variation with "inspired" thinner but "bytes" the same.

here are the changes you requested. Also made company name a bit smaller, I think it looks better this way

thinner inspired. I think it would work better if Bytes is thinner. I will upload that version shortly. Sorry about the TM, I accidentally moved it

I agree that it looks better a little smaller, good call.

I like where you were going with "inspired" in blue but when I pasted it into a screenshot of the site the blue didn't seem to work well with the rest of the blues of the site.I can't put my finger on whats off about it though.

While your at it can you try putting "Inspired" in a font like #96 ans for "Inspired" but leave "Bytes" in the font you currently have it.

I've also changed the background to be identical to the one on your website. Now we can work with colors and you can test them on the site.

splendid idea.

I've pasted #146 into a screenshot of my site. And threw the image online soe we have a reference.

If you see about 2/3 of the way down where the 2 red arrows are. I'd like the green of the logo to match the green of the text.

Likewise, I'd like the blue to match up with the blue as indicated by the lime green arrows.

Let me know if that helped ;)

I'll take a look at the new colors you just posted in just a sec.

BTW, The green is #CBFF5B and the blue is #BCEBFF if that helps

I'd also like to see a variation with "inspired" in #EDEDED (off white) and "bytes" in #CBFF5B

I am having a very hard time deciding between the top 6 entries. I did want to give you a heads up for when I finally decide. I'd like the winning version against a transparent bg (I believe this is the industry standard is it not). I'd like a version that looks good against a white bg and a solid black & white version.

Logo Designer
I can submit a black and white version also. And yes, you will have the logo on transparent background also.

I've cut out and pasted #172 into a screenshot of the site to see how it looks in context. You can see it here. http://worent.com/logos/172.jpg

Actually, I've done it to all of the top 5, here they are for reference:
#172: http://worent.com/logos/172.jpg
#164: http://worent.com/logos/164.jpg
#166: http://worent.com/logos/166.jpg
#125: http://worent.com/logos/125.jpg
#170: http://worent.com/logos/170.jpg

Looking at your #172 I'm still unsure of the colors. They feel a bit too "pastel" I that makes any sense. I really like your design. But I like the colors of #166 (http://worent.com/logos/166.jpg) or #164 (http://worent.com/logos/164.jpg) better.

Think you can try to make the colors of #172 more like the colors of #166 or #164. I.e. more saturated.

With an hour left I'm not sure if there's time to get in one last request but I'm going to try.

Think you can make the squares slightly beveled like #199. Don't go overboard that it looks glossy. Subtly is key. I like the way #199 matches the look of my icons on my site very well. (http://worent.com/logos/199.jpg)

Either way you can switch ranking even in judging mode so that the first ranked can upload more revisions, because only the 1st ranked can.
