Hello Fred - first of all thank you for the invite… I would have missed this one ;-) It was difficult to do just one chef, and have him do all those fun things that you will do in your classes - so why not show the entire class right?! This basically shows it all in one fun picture. I tried to keep the colors to a limit since you had mentioned you wanted to get them embroidered. Obviously I can soup up the colors a bit if you wish - but I think that these colors show class and are subtile enough to let the cartoon do the talking. I hope that you like this one as much as I do… I have to say that this is one of my better ones ;-)
All the best… I'm off to bed now. If you need any changes, I can still get to them tomorrow morning. Thanks again Dave
Love It!!! I think it might benefit from just a tad more color at your discretion. I'm thinking that since women are our primary target that we should convert one of these fellows into a lady!! Your thoughts?
The descender on the "y" in "culinary" leaves our slogan hanging out there I wonder if we should tuck it in somewhere?
Ah… a man with taste ;-) Glad you like it Fred (me too). Thank you for the ranking, hope I can stay there. I added some color to this one and fixed the "y". You were right, it needed it. The color was kind of difficult to add since all the chefs wear a white coat and hat, but by adding some color to the star in the background, darkening the skin tone of our friend in the middle and adding a shadow to "Culinary Adventures" it seemed to work out nicely. I'm surprised you hadn't seen my woman in the background already. (She's the one with the beer in her hand.) I knew that we couldn't have an all-male cooking team so I had added her in the initial design.
I hope that this works out for you. If you need any changes and I don't get to them before the end of the contest, no worries… as long as I'm ranked first, I can still do minor changes in judging mode.
Nicely done. Interestingly enough, I think I prefer the brightness in #79 over #81. Our friend in the middle may be a little too dark. I think the type treatment in #81 is best, but let's use the art from #79 with it. Your thoughts?
Hi Fred - I think that what you are seeing is the grayish background I put in #81. It probably muted the colors a bit instead of enhancing them as intended. Here is is with a solid white background. Plus, I adjusted our buddy in the middle again back to his "normal" self.
Hi Fred - I just wanted to let you know that I will be away from the computer until Monday. I will still be able to answer any mails (iPhone) but won't be able to do and changes until I return. I hope that everything is okay with the design - if not let me know and I'll get to it on Monday.
Hi Fred - I see that you've extended the contest. If you're not happy with my current entry, please let me know and I'll do some revisions. I'd love to win this one for you. (and me… of course)
I think we're really close. The one piece of negative "friend feedback" that I'm getting has to do with the masculinity of the logo. I'm thinking that we need to incorporate a female chef front and center on this logo since we're targeting women for this culinary center. I'd also like to play with the font on "Wine. Food .Friends." to make it easier to read....particularly when it runs small.
Finally, if it's not too much trouble, I'd really like to see the logo with one singular chef. I'm hoping for the exact same style and look, but something a little simpler. There is a concern that this might be a tough logo to reproduce in some circumstances. If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to see how this might look.
Thanks, man. I really love your work. I appreciate the extra effort.
Thanks, Dave! Our "transgender" chefs in Entry #97 may create an entirely new marketing opportunity for us!! I like what you've done with #98. This version of the logo may be a bit more versatile for embroidery, screenprinting and smaller imprints. I'd like to play up the "wine" component a little more in this logo. Would you mind replacing the whisk with a glass or red wine? It might help the overall balance of the logo to lower his arm with the wine glass similar to the position the wine glass is in Entry #80.
I am guessing that we can make arrangements directly with you if we'd like to end up with two versions of this logo. (single chef for one, group of chefs for the second.)
Thanks for the feedback. I can do the change on #98 later tonight. I had thought about the wine glass as I was drawing him and thought that you wouldn't want it too specific ;-) - glad you want it though. That splash of red for the wine will look great there.
Yes, you are right - any additional work or designs will have to be discussed after you end the contest. That won't be a problem at all on my end. Sounds great to me, it's just that LogoTournament doesn't want the designers doing "backdoor deals" to try and take an unfair win. So, let's work on that later.
Hi Fred - here's the version with him and the wine. I told you… that extra splash of red sure makes a difference. Let me know how you feel about this one.
#108 is perfect. Do you think we need anything on the table like a cookbook, rolling pin, mixing bowl or a chef's knife? Would that add to the interest in the logo or would it distract from more important things? This is great. Well done. You may notice that I've gone back to a Entry #84 as my favorite group shot for Rank#2. I guess I'd rather have no women.....than ugly women!! I imagine that it's going to come down to choosing between #108 and #84.
Thank you Fred - pretty cool idea to put a couple of things on the table next to him. I added some things here. I'm not sure if it looks too "cluttered" or if it fits. In the small thumbnail it looks a little much, but the original, full sized design looks pretty good. I'll leave that decision to you. Regarding the "woman problem" - no worries, we can always add some later should you change your mind down the road.
I think Entry #116 may be a little cluttered. Let's just put a cookbook (open) on his right side. I do like having things on the table, but perhaps we put a few too many things. Thanks.
