#175 is an improved design inside the gear.
I think I prefer the bits between the name and the logo, and the grey shadowing for a subtle 3D (#117, I would use a shadowless version for BW). The spacing on the data bits is better in #175. I would say as wide as they can go, and still look like they were spaced by the gear teeth. Fewer teeth would help simplicity and bit-spacing. If you want a number, I'd say 10, but if you need 12 for symmetry, that's probably ok. I like the square teeth of #117 over the trapezoids of #175.
I would also be interested in looking a one-line (InformationSoftworks) design, with a wide-spaced short-wide font for the slogan that is fully justified (more like
#139). Again, despite what I've said in the past
on a random note, I do like the way the gear in
#164 has one side implied by the position of data bits (you don't pick up on it until you look closely), though I don't know if it has any application in your design.
Are you burned out yet? :)
