Maybe I'm not explaining this well...It would be as if a light were shining from behind the figure. The figure would stand out in relief, almost like a silhouette from the background.

We still like this one the best but we need to see a diffuse glow coming from behind the figure. I don't know whether you are using Photoshop or Illustrator, but I believe both have filters that could create a glow.

One more thing. Please make the glow around the entire figure, except for its base.

We can’t tell if the background is black or brown. We would like it to be dark brown

the edge is still hard and it’s actually part of the figure which we didn’t want. The gradient should be a glow coming from behind the figure. The glow is part of the background, not the figure. Also, make the glow a soft yellow or tan, not white. Please make the divider line a little thicker. You are now in first place.

We still like the layout of this one the best. The white line around the figure is not a gradient. It is a hard edge. Please make it a white gradient that fades into the background. The bolding and sizing of the motto "Fine Woodturned Creations" is good. Please put a white separator line between the "I Dance with Wood" and the motto with a little bit of extra spacing between the two elements.

Also, the motto "Fine Woodturned Creations" might be difficult to discern when it's business card size. Can you make it a little larger and maybe make it bold?

This is STUNNING! The only concern we have is that when the logo is scaled down to business card size, there might not be enough contrast between the brown wood figure and the dark background. BTW, is the background black or a dark brown? Hard to tell from the screen. Here's an idea: could you put a bright white or off-white gradient glow around the figure to make it stand out more from the background? The greatest intensity should start at the outer edge of the figure and then soften as it moves out and dissolves in the background.
