Slogan
Your hometown tavern since 1920.
What We Do
The Hotel Bar & Grill, in the heart of Downtown Turtle Lake, Wisconsin, has been serving hearty home-cooked meals, tasty beverages, fun, and companionship with cozy, small town charm since 1920.

Color Preferences
I like burgundy and tan or burgundy & grey. Our building is brick. I'd like the strength, history, and comfort of the building reflected in the logo.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I've been looking for something that represents the history of the bar & its place in the community. It is a two-story, brick building, originally built as a Hotel, operated since 1920. The bar was added in 1934 & is still here today. I like the idea of the bartender with the garters on his sleeves serving up drinks. The facade of the building would be an interesting alternative. Photos of bar & facade attached. I have 1930s photos but the file size is too big to attach. The interior photo is from the 50s, the exterior is from today. Would prefer an "aged" look but these give you some idea.

I like the font on the Bar and Grill portion of #2 but I'd like to see a graphic/pictoral element added. Prefer the layout of #3 to the layout of #1 but I'd like to see a more pictoral look to the building in that design.

I like the shape of #4. Try it without the frill in the O and without the keys. In its history the Hotel Bar has been owned & operated mostly by women. My husband suggested that we try a barmaid in your design or a "Miss Kitty" type lady.

I like the way the building looks in #1. I'd like to see an "Est. 1920" somewhere in the designs please. Thanks a lot! Everyone's work is greatly appreciated - your ideas are all very exciting.

Would like to see #12 with a "wood grain" effect (like #s 7 & 11) in the red portion. Maybe try it with a few different colors or fonts.

I'm not settled yet. Still interested in seeing some updates to #5 & #4. Also, since the Hotel Bar started as a railroad Hotel, I'm interested in what a steam train would like in a design - more as a "background" element, but I think it would look cool & really grasp the history of the bar & our town.

Can we try a combination of #8 & #20? And, can we incorporate the train into #s 17 & 11? Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback.
FYI, if you click on the logos above, you can see the designers comments there & you can also post feedback there as well, just in case you didn't know you could do that.
Thanks again,
Don

Wow! Great job - I'm so confused. I will try to get on here as much as possible to continue ranking in these last couple days but it's Halloween and we get to drink until 3:30 a.m. here in Wisconsin. Long, fun night at work ahead. Keep the variations coming - we are loving them!

The Halloween party was great! Got to bed about 7 a.m. our time. I will provide one more feedback before I head to bed (much earlier) tonight but will not be online tomorrow to give feedback or rank entries as I will be cooking and cooking and computers don't mix :) Basically, if you want feedback, get your entries in in the next 7 hours. Thanks!

This is the last time I can rank or provide feedback before the contest ends. Hope everyone got the info. they needed from me. I read your rules and as I understand it 3 different designers are supposed to occupy places 1 through 3. I think that's rediculous and I absolutely refuse to accept any designs that my ten year old son could do himself just so you can get ranking points in the number 3 position. If you haven't put some thought into it, please don't submit it. I appreciate the work of the designers who have communicated with me & incorporated my feedback into their designs. If you are submitting in the remaining hours, please read my contest brief thoroughly. I will not throw out designs submitted in the last hours. I just expect them to meet my needs if I'm going to rank them. Thank you so much for doing the beautiful work I could never do myself. I am overwhelmed by how much a design can communicate. Mine is a business of personal relationships with nearly 90 years of history. I know its hard to interpret those emotions into print so I'm extra thrilled with the results of this competition. Thank you again!
