Taking the colour scheme and shape of traditional English pub signage and presenting it in a more contemporary manner.

I like the font style of #36, however don't really care for the horse and jockey. Do you have other options that you can submit and maybe attach the art and the logo so that it looks like one logo?
I would like a verticle and horizontal version for signage too if possible.

I'll give this another go, in horizontal and vertical formats. I'm thinking a head-on view of horse and jockey might work best for the vertical.

Thanks for the changes but here is a bit more info:
The name has to be British Pub not English
The Union Jack needs to be the colors of the Union Jack Flag
They want the horse to look like it has run through the flag with fringed edges from running through the flag but not too dramatic so it would be taken as an insult to the Brits. (similar to the art that was taken out of the contest because it was photoshoped...not sure if you can see those, it was one of the first submitted but taken down by the facilitator)

I'm clearly not going to do anything that's going to be insulting to Brits ;)
