These are GREAT!
I was going to allude to sothers about using a "Gator" orange but you nailed it

I like the sheild idea because we can use that like a Nike Swoosh, later on

all your stuff was FAB!

I like using the icon because it can stand independently. In the web/social media age, an iconic logo just works well. You can lay it out beside your wordmark or on top. It makes spacing a non-issue from layout perspective.

but love the orange and blue

#48 - I like the look of this shield better with the rooftop leaving a point on top....and the orange house and blue sky make more literal sense.

#54 | #55 - More recognizable as a shield. Also a more versatile wordmark layout gives you far more layout options.

In my professional opinion these are the strongest of my designs. The more easy to recognize shield shape will tell the story much quicker.

A logo MUST tell its story quickly at first glance.

No question this one will do better.
