Our Ideas & Additional Information
I would like the name "Holy Family Veterinary Hospital somewhere in the image. It is made to be turned into a lighted sign on the front of a building, so it cannot be terribly complicated. The holy family is Jesus, Mary and Joseph. I would like the crest to have a version of the nativity scene: Jesus, Mary, and the infant Jesus in a manger, surrounded by animals. Traditionally the animals are barn animals. In my logo I would like to include family pets (ect. dog, cat, maybe a parrot in the rafters), and a lamb (representing the lamb of God). Other animals, I leave to your discretion. The image should convey they love and comfort of family associated with the traditional nativity scene. You can include or exclude the wise men and the angels if you think that they will make it too crowded.

Discussion

I would like the name "Holy Family Veterinary Hospital" somewhere in the image. It is made to be turned into a lighted sign on the front of a building, so it cannot be terribly complicated.

The idea of the holy family is that Jesus, Mary and Joseph, in their love for each other, reflect the lover of God the Father for God his son Jesus, and that love is so self giving that it is actually a third person, the Holy Spirit. We are supposed to be an image of this love when we love each other as families. I wanted this image to reflect the love, care, solace and happiness that the holy family is.

Initially I wanted a Nativity Scene (Jesus, Mary, and Joseph in the Stable with the animals around them. It is becoming clear thought that that gets really busy really quickly. So I have adjusted my goals. I would like the words "Holy Family" stand out but I want the words, "Veterinary Hospital" to be prominent as well. With respect to the imagery, I want the concept of veterinary care to be the first thing that people think of when they see the imagery. I want elements to be in the picture that subtly convey God, or Love, or Family, or safety, or comfort.....I like those images to be Christiana s well. I hope this is not too confusing.

Here is a description of the interior color scheme for the clinic. My friend is better with color and she came up with this for me. Hopefully it helps give an idea of the color scheme we are going for: If the main color of the clinic, including hallways, is painted a shade of aqua, the color of the floors throughout can be either a sand color or a light grey driftwood color allowing the receptionist counter top to either be a natural wood look or a driftwood look (like distressed boat wood).

Each of the four examining rooms could be a different color (which would be beautiful) one - light green, one yellow, one light orange/peach, and keep one a variation of the aqua.

The surgery room should be a form of yellow and light orange/peach because those colors are more energizing. And the paint should be semi - high gloss in the surgery room for easier cleanup. Actually, all the walls should be semi gloss and the baseboards HIGH gloss. If the surgery room is a form of aqua, then there will be too much relaxation for surgery. The blue tones draw out a peaceful mood, the yellows and oranges invoke happiness and a happy energy (not like red that invokes anger), and the green invokes feelings of honesty, groundedness and healing.

My thoughts for the lobby is to calm people down and allow them to feel "transported" to the beach. Unless you would like to have yellows and light oranges out there to get them happy (like a sunrise). The bathroom could be the yellow/green combination. If you have a natural wood color baseboard and chair-railing, high gloss varnish on those. And if you pick driftwood or the sand color for the floors and counter top, the baseboards and chair-railing should be natural and match with a high gloss finish. Pictures on the walls, etc, can all be picked out later. I noticed in the blueprint description that there will be benches built in. What did you have in mind? Wood or laminate? And are they attached to the walls? Not sure what you had in mind. Any type of natural wood, between benches, counter tops, baseboards, etc would look FABULOUS in natural, high gloss wood. Anyway, let me know what you think.

Here is the address of the building. You can go on google maps, and look at the street level to get an idea of the outside of the building. The building does not look great now, but it will look better with a fresh coat of paint. We were thinking of a creme color for the outside of the building.

Thank you so much for your designs. The emblem you make may be a very proud part of my life in the next few years.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion.
~~ When you provide feedback to designers, you increase the chances of getting the logo you want. More feedback = better results!
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested." We'd like to know what you don't want so we can give you the design you do want.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points.
~~ The first phase of the contest is the "Open" phase, and everyone can submit during that time.
~~ After your contest's initial "Open" phase closes, it will enter the "Top 5" phase; only the top 5 ranked designers will be able to submit revisions at that time.
~~ The "Top 5" designers are the first 5 designers in a contest, not the first 5 designs.
~~ When "Top 5" ends, the "Judging" phase begins. The designer of the 1st place design will be the only designer who can submit revisions at that time.

I am really torn now because I really like the design of some of the new submissions. They look really clean and I think they would like very good in a lit sign on the front of the building, but I also really like the inclusion of elements from the nativity scene. I am very open to other submissions which, if they do not directly include elements from the nativity scene....maybe indirectly reference the holy family, love, or the cross. Run with it guys. I really like what you have made so far.

I like the hearts worked into the various designs. They are subtle but really nicely said.

I really like the clean look of number 11 and number 4. I like the christian elements brought into numbers 8, 3 and 15. I really like number 15 for the cleanness of the design and the heart & cross. Number 15 seems like it might be to busy for a sign though.

I like the elements brought into 18, 19, & 20 but I am not sure about the colors because I am not sure if the would go with the overall color scheme of the clinic. The building on which the sign will be creme color. Other trim elements in the mall have a blue similar to the blue seen in a lot of the logos.

I like the colors and prominence of the name in number 16.

numbers 15 and 17 look great but they may have too much going on for a lighted sign.

I like number 4 and number 11 because they show a dog and cat so prominently, and this sends a clear message of veterinary care. I also like the way number 11 for the heart in the dogs tail and number 4 for the crosses and the heart.

Hello Dr. Mike,

I'd like to make a suggestion. Can you click on the designs you like and leave your feedback there? We're getting an e-mail on everything you post here, in the public area and if the designers aren't reading comments here, they will not know the feedback was intended to them.

Thank you,

Number 11: I like the way "Holy Family" stands out but "Veterinary Hospital" hides a bit beneath it. I like the image of the dog because it says what we do so clearly. I like the heart because it it subtle but a loving and Christian image.

Number 23: It looks like the dog and cat are consecrating the Eucharist together....which could be a bit much in terms of symbolism: )

Number 11 is great....I wonder if putting some sort of border around it would make it a bit bolder....not sure....
