I used the pelican to make a subtle refrence towards louisiana.
Also for the reason that the pelican is both a land bird ( lawn and garden ) and a water bird ( Boats )
The pelican can easily be identified as your company, and could be the basis for your branding.
The pelican can be used with or without the name.
