Hi,

Please let me know if you'd like any revisions. I'd be happy to provide them. Thanks!

Hi Rapunzel - So sorry for the delay. The illustration need more attitude and playfulness - to capture the spirit of the company and it's shows. Also a bit more boldness. HattBox is one word. Energy needs to be amped up as well. We are also trying adding "Gay Storm's" before HatBox - to use her celebrity to help sell the company. Gay is very modern and straightforward and doesn't take herself too seriously - we need to communicate that as well with maybe bolder typeface contrasts and imagery.

Hi Rapunzel,
I really like your work and also agree with the last comment by my agent. I am partial to entrys #67 and #79. I like the darker hair in both, the cameo in #79 and the font used in Gay Storm's in #67. I will keep these ranked high.

#79 Comments for revision
Like the darker hair, the cameo, the long plume - can you suggest another font? Perhap's one version with the font in #67. Tagline font is a bit fuzzy/small - hard to read. Can you work on that? Can you try both the stars and red lines and then just a red line in one version. Are the fonts pizelated.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. I'll revise my design accordingly & resubmit.

The fonts aren't pixelated, but I'll see what I can do to make them sharper.

Thanks!

#80 - changed the font of 'Gay Storm's' to the font used in #67. Enlarged the tagline, and used a bolder, more legible font.

#81 - changed the font of 'HatBox' to the one used in #67. Added the red line on either side of the stars.

#82 - deleted the stars, red line only. Otherwise the same as #81

Let me know if you'd like to see any other variations. Thanks!

Hi Pam - Can you draft a more horizontal version of #80 for the top of the website at http://hatboxwilltravel.com? Also, a couple more variations to bring out the tagline would be appreciated.

Logo Designer
Sure - I can do that. Thanks!

#88 - a horizontal version for you.

I'll play around with more tagline variations this evening when I get home from work.

Thanks in advance for your patience!

Great Pam - #88 is not quite working for us yet - perhaps too much differentiation between HatBox and Will Travel.....try some other ideas please. The illustration is working really well - just want to refine text and options during this phase.

We'd like to find something that we can use in your original layout and also horizontal. Need the logo to be flexible. Also need it to work without the image on occasion. What do you think is the best way to handle the various uses we need? Also, we want to integrate your look and feel of the logo with the website. How would you suggest we do that?

No pressure - take your time.

#89 -
changed "Will Travel" to the same font as "HatBox" so it looks more cohesive, especially when it's in the horizontal version. Changed the font of the tagline for more impact.

#90 -
horizontal version of #89

Working on additional options.

Thanks for the feedback!

Still a bit too busy for me - want your illustration to pop.

Do you think we need to go all one color on the name for the horizontal? Something is getting lost in the move to horizontal. The crispness. I like the tagline better but any other ideas?

Hi,

I'm working on revisions now. Will submit as soon as I get them finished. Thanks for your patience.

#94 & #95:
All text the same color; removed the stars/redlines from between the lines to look less busy; added stars next to tagline

#96 & #97
HatBox and Will Travel same script, and same color

Let me know what works for you and what you would like further revised. Thanks!

Pam - How about all red? Also still looking for more distinctiveness, pop and boldness in the name without the image. Any new ideas?

Logo Designer
#98 - Name without the image; text all in red; slight drop shadow on 'HatBox' for emphasis

#99 - name with the image; eliminated the stars here so it's not too busy

Better or worse?

Great job on #98 and #98 bringing out the tagline. For the more horizontal layout, I would like to see the illustration at left and then the company name in about 30-50% of the size of the illustration - the company name all in the darker red. Prefer Hatbox without the blue shadow. See if you can find the font "channel slanted 2"for the logotype name and try it out. http://www.fonts2u.com/channel-slanted-2.font If we like it, I'd be willing to find the funds for a commercial license so we can use it. http://www.aringtypeface.com/channel/i
This just has a bit more of an edge to it -
Also will you try the tagline in all-caps in a non-serif font as well?
Is there a way for us to send you sample images Pam?

Please keep Gay Storm's in same blue as ribbon on hat as in the tagline. Logo in the red is really good. Thanks.

Hi,
Glad you like the latest entries. I'll make the changes to the fonts you requested, as well as the color changes.

If there are images you want me to see, you can post them on your contest page like you did with the sketch of the hat.

Thanks!

Hi Pam - So glad you are still there. As you might have surmised you are our winner. And we are just trying to get in the final revisions before officially selecting you. We so appreciate your ongoing assistance.

Hi Pam - So glad you are still there. As you might have surmised you are our winner. And we are just trying to get in the final revisions before officially selecting you. We so appreciate your ongoing assistance. I think what I'm really looking to see is a change in proportion in illustration to text for the horizontal version for the website. The font for the company name likely needs to be all the same size for horizontal as well. See image on main page. For our end result we are hoping for a horizontal and the version you have created, the names of the fonts used and we will be uber happy! Thank you again for sharing your talent with us!

Hi - I made the revisions based on the proportion image you linked me to. And used the requested font Channel-slanted 2. Made the slogan all caps. And Gay's name the same blue of the hat ribbon.

#100 - the revised logo

#101 - the horizontal version, keeping the slogan in the banner

#102 - eliminated the slogan banner and made the slogan blue as in your proportion sample.

Let me know what needs tweaking!

Thanks!

Ok Pam - Moving forward quickly - thank you. We love your blue banner so lets keep that for the tagline in all versions. We will be choosing between the earlier font and the channel slant 2.
1. #100 For the red, please go back to the darker, bluer red color as in #99 - that is Gay's preference.
2. Love 99# without shadow on Hatbox, and with blue Gay Storm
3. #101 - Can you use blue/red in #99 and move Gay Storm to left and banner at bottom to right?
4. Can you do a version of correction #101 with your original font (as in #99)

Almost there - thank you!

Hi there,

Sure thing. I'll make these changes and upload them this evening when I get home from work. Lunch is over, so I need to get back to working on my design projects at my place of work.

Thanks for your patience!

Ok, here you go: all reds are as in #99, all "Gay Storm's" are the blue of the ribbon and banner

#103 - the revision of #99; omitted the drop shadow on 'HatBox'; all caps san serif in the banner as in #100

#104 - the revision of #100; changed the red to that of #99

#105 - horizontal version with channel-slanted 2 font

#106 - horizontal version with the original font

Let me know what you think!

Hi Pam - OK - we're there! Gay adores your design and so that is the best possible of endings. Your work will be truly cherished. We are going to go with your original font - now that we have worked out the variations, it works best. It's important to us that we have 1) the name of the font you are using and a 1) file of the illustration without anything overlapped.
Also, we would love to be able to give you credit and link to your site and work if you are interested.

Thank you for hanging in there with us through not the smoothest process. We are so very appreciative of you!

Hey Pam - Just one more question we'd like your opinion. Do you like the wink? Or do you prefer your illustration with the original two eyes open? What are your thoughts on this?

Logo Designer
Hi L and Gay,

Thanks so much for choosing my design for your logo. I'm so glad you love it! I sincerely hope it will prove to be a valuable asset to your endeavor.

I just wanted to let you know I'll prepare your final files when I get home from work this evening. For the approval process we are only able to upload the eps and jpg of the winning logo. Once that one is approved then I can email you all the other versions you wanted, ie the horizontal and the illustration by itself.

The font I used for the logo name is called TheNautiGal ROB, and the font for the slogan is Myriad Pro Bold.

I don't mind the wink at all. But if you have doubts I can always send you the one without the wink.

I'll notify you this evening once I've uploaded the files of the winning logo.

Thanks again!
