I like the direction you are going with the mixture of the justice and the family. I think I like the layout of #29 the best. My only hesitation is that I am not sure I want stick figures in our logo. There is another agency nearby that uses stick figures in their logo. Also, I like the single parent image over the two parent images as we serve primarily single parents.
Our committee has review your logos. Out of your collection we like #29 the best. The committee really likes the concept of the individual holding the scales of justice and incorporating a parent-child. We would like the parent to be gender neutral and the child perhaps not be an infant. I think we would like something more modern than the stick figures. You are on the right track with the concept if we could tweak the image.
Thank you and the committee for the fast review and appreciation!
The concept of a parent holding a scale seems to render pretty good the idea behind the center for family law. I liked the idea myself, this is why I limited myself to it, and eliminated other concepts that came to my mind.
Further on, I work on the parent character and make it gender neutral (tough job though), and assemble him/her with a preschool age child, gender neutral as well. The symbol will be proposed to you with a more modern style, and with several color combinations and font variations, as soon as I design it.
I’m back with the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law logos. As you can see, I’ve uploaded quite a few designs. There are four styles of shapes: smooth and flowing (entries #48, #49, #50, #51), contemporary and “contre-jour” photography-like (entries #52, #53, #54, #55), scissors-cut or Matisse style (entries #56, #57, #58, #59) and the more traditional isotype style (entries #60, #61, #62, #63).
I played with colors and fonts until I found several combinations, which you can see on the 16 recently uploaded entries. The “heroes” are kept with a contour, because if we add facial features we cannot avoid specific human genders. The Goddess of Justice was, of course, a female in the ancient mythology, but we should update this image and depict the character in more correct, neutral and contemporary visual language.
Of course, there is room for any other suggestions and requests from you, as you might prefer other shapes, color palettes and/or fonts.
Let me know how we should go further and make this logo as good as possible!
Thanks for all of the new submissions! Of those submitted I think I am responding more favorably to #58. I like the juxtaposition of the image with the name, although I would like Harriett Buhai to be a little more prominent. In terms of the styles I think we are leaning more scissor-cut/ or Matisse style (as you call it) but I wouldn't mind you refining it a little more. Right now I am getting a bit of a ghosty/ spirit vibe from it.
Hello, I’ve refined and uploaded my work for your review: a new set of variations on the scissor-cut shapes, with various color combos and character styles. I tried to make this collection more diverse than the previous one, and as different from the 1st ranked in this contest as possible. The novelty is in the outline treatment: I propose more iconic symbols, easier to read and to understand at a glance. Please let me have your feedback, to proceed with the changes!
