Kent, Apologies that this did not make it to the top of the heap. I feel bad as I love chatting back and forth with you, and I love your design sense and style. It was a long day. Just now able to give the contest some attention. Thanks for your patience!

I guess my Mom with my grandfather and grandma had a pretty big farm. Mostly corn but then had another area for their own vegetables. We he passed away when my mom was 16 they had to sell the majority of it. Another long day harvesting? I did a logo and a lot of other work for a winery in Texas. Recently they had a grape stomp similar to the I Love Lucy episode.

Elderberries are amazing. But a bit of a beast to pick and process!

This was to show possibly a 1 color job.

Take care and get some rest. Something I haven't been getting. My daughter keeps us hopping.

A place near my grandma's had wild elderberries. She use to make jam or jelly, been too long to remember.

Grapes are ripe now. So are plums. And last bit of elderberries. Apples are starting to drop. A bit early, not sure what is going on there. Apples and pears should be a few weeks out. Not so much now. Still learning though! Could just be the weather, and different varieties.

Thanks Kent. Like the this one more than 305. Will move into ranked. Not sure yet on how I feel about this approach versus 217. Need to sleep on it. And that is just what I'm going to go do now. Sleep! Back on sometime in the morning. Cheers!

Completely understand. What is being harvested right now?
Probably up early all the way to last bit of sunlight trying to get as much done as possible.

Same with these latest two as well. The more we are adding, the less quickly it communicates.

Kent - definitely like your ranked approach versus the new iterations. The bold, straight forward and consistent type treatment. What I liked about that version is that it sort of feels like something you would stamp on a crate, and that was cool. These feel like they are getting more complex - not simpler - there is too much going on - too many things competing for your eye.

Reinforce the happiness with a big smile like Dewey's

Hey Kent! Thanks for working on the tongue a bit. That would have been my one improvement area for the design. As you might remember, we've been using happiness is golden as the tagline for our Golden Dog Farm endeavor. But we found people wanted to buy stuff that just had the Happiness is Golden line on it by itself. So we decided we would create a separate identity for the brand. This is going to go on t-shirts, hats, mugs etc. - often paired with other illustrations, sayings, etc. where this won't be primary (but to start, where it is the primary communication). Please give this a look in that light and let me know if you have any thoughts or areas to explore that would move the idea forward. Thanks!

Moving to prefers others just to keep ranked versions down to a reasonable number. Like the color options you came back with...

Lovely. Like both color iterations. Definitely brings it much closer to home. My wife loves it. :-)

Looks like Dewey. :-) Color choices feel a bit heavy for the feeling we want to convey. Like the illustration and medallion approach. Would love to see some different color selections if you have time. Thanks Kent!

Hi Kent! Nice to see you participating! Appreciate it. For this contest, definitely looking for a more approachable illustration style - less angles/edges and more rounded. Want the illustration to be a quick read as a golden retriever and, for lack of a better term, huggable. This approach is a bit too angular. Looking forward to what additional thoughts you might have here. Thank you again for being a part of this!
