I went with the most iconic images of Half Moon Bay, I can think of. (Short of Repetto's or the traffic on 92 on the weekend. ;-) I was initially thinking of portraying shops, but then the logo might become to cluttered. Of course the Ritz-Carlton was a possibility too, but the use of the image may create some issues.
I have a few questions. Is the logo and the slogan to promote tourism as in "Come shop, play and stay in Half Moon Bay" or is it a slogan for the city like Reno's "The Biggest Little city in the World"?
Also, is this to promote HMB proper (city limits), or will it encompass the surrounding communities such as Princeton?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, and revisions are always welcome.
Thank you for your entries! I really like the new style that is very different from the other entries. I'm particularly fond of the crescent moon within the word 'Moon' of 'Half Moon Bay'. Nice!
I would love you to have another go at this design with the following changes. * Eliminate the pumpkin * Make the left curl (far left side of design) a distinct moon image * Make the right curl (replacing the green pumpkin stem) a cresting wave * Consider ideas within the central area akin to some of the leading entries that feature waves, land, hills, and mountains.
Thanks again. You've really generated some terrific new ideas here.
Thanks for the feedback. It helps give me some direction. I was kind of concerned the the pumpkin may be too much. Growing up in Belmont, it was the pumpkin patches that we looked forward too. So of course, I had to get the nostalgic part out of me :)
I work on your changes. Should I just keep it to geographical images, or would you like to see some other elements such as hints of poppys...?
Are we supposed to upload a logo with every slogan? Or did you want the slogans listed separately? Since I did not hear back, I tried to find a slogan that could work as both a city slogan and an ad slogan for HMB tourism. I feel that I may have broadened the demographics too much. Did you want to attract mainly couples?
I am most fond of #105. I love that you know HMB. That really comes through in your work.
Could you create a couple variations of #105. I'd like to see it without the pelican and with the white crescent moon in a pumpkin color instead of white. I want to pick up a hint of pumpkin, but not show an actual pumpkin.
