From the client -- Thanks for the submissions thus far. All are appreciated.
My needs are specific. Please focus on the gorilla head. I prefer something hand drawn and simple.
Transposed is ok for a base, but then needs to be redrawn. Something as simple as a "single line" drawing is needed. The trick is to be that simple (almost abstract) and at the same time be immediately recognizable as a gorilla head. Thanks to all.

Also, please use the image (noted by the link in the brief) as a guide. It needs not be used, but please note the profile, and the attempt at 3D effect. If anything, I want to simplify it, not add detail. Single line type simplicity is needed.

top 3 are going in the right direction. i like that they are drawn from hand and are simple.
at the same time, the drawbacks are the small size and and lack of aggression. A little more detail is needed.

THE TOP RANKED STUFF IS GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. LOOKING FOR MORE OF THE SIDE 3/4 PROFILE. REALLY LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO COME UP WITH ONE OF THOSE "ONE LINE" DRAWING.

* Your work must be created in a vector program such as Adobe Illustrator, and the final files MUST be delivered in .EPS format. Photoshop is not for logos and.

SIDE 3/4 PROFILE?

the top 2 are the style we want.
let's try the face look straight to us, forward, no profile
great contest! many logos we could live with. but there will be only 1 winner !

also, more realism please, and simplicity, abstraction. current number 1 is fantastic,
but is it not plausible that someone may mistake it for a gorilla, cat, eagle hybrid ?
It is nice, but we need 100% gorilla !
