Really nice concept. Something about the look of the book isn't quite working for us. Could you play with that a bit? Just a thought, but what if there were some strong roots sinking down and spreading out as well? Like below the drop shadow and maybe sort of underlining the text?

Also, could you adjust the font so that 'garden' is green and the rest is another color? We would prefer a dark grey rather than the brown.

Thanks! Looking forward to seeing the next version!

We want to push #59 even further. Here are some comments:

Please remove the vertical line.

Please go MUCH further with the roots. If this design wins it will be because of the roots (which don't appear in any other design in this contest, and which we like as an element.) The roots for this design should sink below the ground line (or drop shadow). Right now your plant looks like someone pulled it out of the ground. The roots should also be LONG and should spread out all over underneath the design. This logo will primarily be on the front of a brochure, so it's ok if the design gets big and has underground tendrils. Doesn't need to conform to a tight space. Please look up "tap root" images for inspiration on this.

We like the way that the plant is growing out of the book (#60 doesn't work as well for us). But something still feels wrong about the look of the book. Could the pages be white instead of grey? That might help.

Thanks again. Looking forward to seeing more.

Thank you.

#71 looks really good. we love the mound of dirt brown instead of green.

Can you make the roots spread out to the right and left a little more and be less detailed? So maybe like 7 actual root pieces? It's too detailed and hairy and gets lost.

Could you try the leaves with three instead of two and could you make the book less detailed? Maybe black?
