Our Ideas & Additional Information
The official company name is "Grove Roofing Services Inc"; we like to stress "Grove Roofing" and keep the "services" part minor. In fact we have two divisions, the main roofing part and a service division that performs repairs and maintenance. For future branding we may call the construction part of the company just "grove roofing", and then add "services" when referring to the service division.
Also, there is a local company called "Big G Roofing". Our current logo is a giant "G" and often confused with this company so something we want to move away from.

Hi: Thanks to everyone so far! Some comments:

1). We currently have the following colors and we think it would be helpful to maintain them:
LOGO: maroon (R: 110 | G: 15 | B: 61) & gray (155 | 163 | 167)
TEXT: black (34 | 40 | 40) & white (255 | 255 | 255)

2). Some very nice ideas with peaked roofs (i.e. 21, 26, 51, 52 ) however we are primary commercial | industrial and work on flat roofs. We don't think this look is a way we want to go.

3). We believe serif fonts (or at least more classic looking ones; i.e. 37, 40, 41, 44, 50-53) are more what we were thinking than the modern ones (4, 5, 11, 25, 43). * VERY IMPORTANT * being around since the 1800's is a HUGE differentiation for us. We want a project a sense of tradition, confidence, and trust.

4). We like how 50-53 use a much small sized "services"

5). If a logo is used we think it should stay away from being a very recognizable "G" (i.e. #1, 27, 43, 49, 53) and either be abstract or utilize some other symbol (11,17,25,50)

Thanks and keep them coming!

We just ranked a # of logos - they all have different elements we like and the

One theme we would like to stay away from is the triangle peak (as mentioned before) since it implies "residential". Rectangle would be a much better "shape" to imply commercial.

Thanks for the continued entries - while a number of them look very good we don't think deliberate high rise buildings is unique enough.... having looked at so many great ones but still not feeling "that's it!" we very much want it to say both "professional" & "tradition/ historical". Some sort of logo is necessary, whether it's involves an abstract "G" letter, something that makes it look like a roof, both or neither.

Thanks again for everything!

Not to rule out where things are developing because we've seen some really good ideas, BUT if anyone wants to play with the idea of "grove" as a "canopy" of trees, protection from the elements we're open to that too - we'd even change our color to green if need be...

Thanks!

Thanks for the incredible number of great designs! There's a number of designs we like for different reasons. One theme that we're interested in contrasting them with is a less modern look and more of one that while looking current also feels old or established.

If you go to google images and search on "typewriter font" there is the bled over look of the ink; (same if you search on "ink pen font"; not necessarily looking for cursive or gothic fonts, just perhaps the bled over effect).

Just a thought! Thanks again and interested in seeing any other ideas!
