I'd like to stay away from a typical cross. If a cross will be used I'd like to see it non-standard. I would like to try to implement something desert-y if possible ( no cactus), but maybe a mesquite tree with a wide canopy. Just a thought but not sold on that. Looking at the website you'll see that w have an antique look about us, and would like to maintain that. I do not like the skinny cross and font that his on there now. So I guess we're shooting for antique, family, church. The color scheme should go with the site but does not have to be the same blue. A sepia look may give the antique look to the whole logo without having to bury an element into the design. I would be interested in seeing something with a large "GCF" in there, still with the full name of the church though. That should be enough to go on.
I really like the text in #1. I like the way Grace Christian is bolded and the "Fellowship" is smaller. We commonly refer to ourselves as Grace Christian so this is a great idea and definitely works for us. I like the tree but not so small and in a globe. I'd like to see a tree in the design. What I'm envisiong now that I've seen #1 is a tree with a wide canopy above the text and roots below the text - just as wide, Maybe set into a wide oval shape. There doesn't have to be a clear border around the shape maybe the branches, text and roots could indicate the shape. The roots are great because they imply soundness, stability, strength and family, same with the tree. I am not set on the placement of the text at all, but again I do like the bolding of the first 2 words in #1.
Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:
~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation. ~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered. ~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see. ~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested" ~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation. ~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work. ~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.
I really like the simplicty of #4, but would like to see a tree similar to #3 but with roots. The tree in #4 is a bit too abstract. I LOVE #3 but I think it would be very difficult to reproduce. I especially like those fonts. Perhaps #3 without the shaded oval background and roots under the word "fellowship".
That's the perfect tree. I'm not sure about the font though. I'd like to see what it looks like with the font similiar to #4. I'm afraid that the thinness of the existing font may make us seem a bit creepy.
I really like #10 but the border will be hard to incorporate on our existing site. Can we try something without it? #16 is really nice but I'd like to see it with "Grace Christian" on one line and "Fellowship" on a second line in a smaller (thinner font) like #8. We can lose the slogan from the design. I'll add that if I need to later. #5 is really nice too but I'd like to try it with a more bold "Arial-ish" font. I think serifs make it look a little creepier than I'd like. These all look great! Even though I'm leaning toward the top 3, it was no easy task to separate them. #11 was really great because the sunburst behind the tree looks like the AZ state flag - nice touch! #9 is really nice too, but I don't think I'll be able to incorporate the blue into the existing site design. Again, these ALL look terrific! This process sure would be easier if someone would come up with a few cheezy designs. 8^)
These all look terrific. It's becoming very hard to decide at this point, but I feel comfortable with the ranking. I think #24 would fit well on the existing website, but I'd like to see it with maybe some overlap/shading between the image and the text. This may give it a less of a distinction between the image and the text. I really like #35 as well. The multiple trees definitely indicate the family aspect we're shooting for. Again these all look terrific, even the one's I classified as "not-interested" are very nice, most seem to more contemporary than we're looking for though.
Sorry for "not interesting" many of these. I received a private email from SpeedLogo infomring me of the importance of the rankings. The problems that this classification causes, but not giving the unchosen artsist recognition is not clearly passed on to the contest holder. Many of us are at work and this is one of the dozen things we have going at once. We don't alway have time to read through all of the documentation or consider the ramifications of making tehse decisions. Sorry for moving those to the "not interested" section. I moved one image from each artists back into the rankings. I didn't realize that the time youtook on these image sould have been lost. Thanks, SpeedLogo for informing me of this and giving me an opprtunity to fix it beofre he end of the contest. I will contact LogoTournament and ask if they could make that clearer.
Yes thanks. I have had several private conmmunications from developers who are working on some revisions. I am very interested to see these. I extended the contest for the minimum allowed (2 days) to give them an opportunity to finish their desgns. Everything looks great! Thank you for your patience with this extension.
I will be ending the contest in the next hour or so. I extended the time yesterday to see some revision, those are in and I think we've narrowed it down. Thank you all for your hard work!
I pulled everyone's images from the "not interested" category and put them all into the ranked category. Based upon SpeedLogo's description of the process, this is the best way to close out a contest so everyone gets credit.
