We definitely are feeling the red a little more. Still looking to push this logo, as we love the overall mark of the G in a spot, but we need something that can be versatile and work both on a white background as well as a black background pretty interchangeably. Our logo often sits on our clients websites, so we don't have an option on the color background and the more simple the better. Can you try taking out the red in the O as it throws off the look of the mark above, and then see what this logo might look like on a black background?
Really loving entry #101. Can you make one minor change and reduce the size of the mark and place it to the left of the text. I think the size of the logo mark and text should be more even when used in a horizontal setting. Also, would be good to see how the tag line integrates.
Thank you. Definitely prefer the reduced size mark in relationship to the text treatment. Some people on the team are still having a little difficulty with the actual mark. Is it possible to make a few subtle changes to the mark. Can you lessen the drop shadow of the red around the spot and the reflection from the G. And also enclose the G within the circle just a little more... that is, bring up the the curved edge on the top left of the circle a little more so that the G pops a little more within the circle. I'm thinking this might help address the issue a few have with the respective mark. As you can see, it is clearly one of our top favorites and we want to see if we can get it there. Thx.
one more thing I forgot to ask, can you try using orange as the accent color instead of red? collectively everyone is leaning more towards orange as the color of the logo rather than red, and I think this minor switch won't affect the design you've created. thx.
Absolutely! And I was going to mention with my last set of changes, that I think the orange translates better between black and white backgrounds than the red does. :-)
looking at it again, I lessened the reflection even more and darkened the grays just a bit. Looks better when on the white background, but still looks great on black.
what do you think of maybe inverting the colors on the mark so that the gray goes to orange and the highlight color is gray? And then maybe try a lowercase type treatment on the gorillaspot.
I definitely like the orange icon better. I made the mark just slightly larger, maybe it was just me, but it seemed like it was competing with the lowercase words. The size of the mark or course, can always be edited.
And again, with a slight black drop shadow behind both the mark and the lettering, makes it 'pop' when on a white background, and disappears entirely when on a black background, which I think is ideal, because the black gives it enough contrast without needing a drop shadow. I also put a slightly different color fade on the mark in this version.
