This is the winning design and I am now going to select it as the winner. But just wanted to reconfirm a couple of things first.
The other options to include in the package are:
- #299 as the other full color option which I will use on dark backgrounds
- #276, #281, #282, #292 two-color options - with these options, I don't think the blank space around Glitter Ink should be thicker like for #298, what do you think? since I will be using these on patterned backgrounds/photos, this might make it too messy if it were thicker
- all white, all black options
In addition to the vector formats, I will require:
- png format with transparent background
- high resolution jpg format with white background
Perfect, thanks. Yes, like the pure cyan better. Would like to see the white outline slightly thicker just to see how it looks. Also not sure if you have changed Designs - I mentioned that I didn't want it so bold - I prefer it less bold like in #236. And then we should be done!
I had two blues saved in the color palette, so I must have used the slightly darker one... Sorry! This one you like is pure cyan, the other is just a blue. The thickness of the white didn't change, so it's probably because there is less contrast. However, if you still want it a bit thicker, I can increase it.
Just a couple of observations on this one. The blue of glitter looks slightly darker on this one than for #238. Not sure if my eyes are playing tricks, but I like the #238 better. Or perhaps you thought it didn't work so well against the lighter gradient swoosh? Also designs on #294 appears to be more bold. I like it less bold as in #238. The blank space around Glitter Ink appears to be slightly thinner on #294, but again don't know if that is an optical illusion due to the lighter gradient swoosh!! I prefer it being slightly wider as on #238.
For this one I wanted the designs in pink and orange star in the original darker orange. The lighter orange version (designs and star) is just for the version with pink ink which will be used on dark backgrounds.
all white is included. Having it in monotone is fundamental for any business. Will also provide one which is all black, for newspaper ads, you never know when you might need it ;)
Hi!
Sorry, it's a public holiday so was away. I'll go over all the changes tomorrow and upload them for you. No, it's not a problem to give you the files for the variations you've asked, since it is just color and I already have working files for each upload. What I would like to know is if, with the change of the gradient, you want me to do it across the board, so that the only difference is in color, not in position, or do you want me to change it only for the blue? Just so I know how to proceed with the other colors you requested :)
I also forget to mention including the all-white version, since this may be necessary for some patterned backgrounds. Is that OK, or am I asking for too many options?
So just to confirm the final alternative colour options in addition to the #1 ranked item - they are the 4 designs that I have currently ranked as 6, 7, 8, 9. #276 yellow and white, #281 blue and white, #282 pink and blue, #287 with pink and lighter orange Ink Designs - for use on dark backgrounds. I would also like to see #282 with purple text. And as mentioned earlier, fade out the blue swoosh more on #287 for greater contrast against the letters er of glitter. Hopefully, these are the last changes ;)
the only other change is as per my comment on #287 ... when i tried this logo on some of my applications like business card, the er of glitter doesn't show up very well against the blue swoosh. I would like to see the swoosh a little lighter and not so overpowering - sort of like the intensity of the very first design you submitted but I wasn't very keen on that washed out greenish color - perhaps just change the gradient so that the blue starts fading out closer to the ink
Hi! I have moved this into first place, as I still prefer the purple and pink combination for Ink DESIGNS for the white background version. Since this is an older version of the logo, I would be grateful if you could please shorten the tail on the G, and move down the dot on the i of Glitter slightly, as per #287
Thank you so much! I appreciate that (sending me the various color options). Is it possible to also have the files as png with transparent background and jpg with white background?
Sorry, it didn't work. When I went out of the screen and went back in, they had moved back to their original positions. so I will tell you their numbers
Since it's just color, I'm ok with sending them without any extras. All my files are vector .eps and illustrator, but if you need photoshop as well I can send that later on via email
I only just realised I could also rank incoming logos before moving them to the ranked box. So i have placed in the 4 top spots of incoming logos the alternative color options that I like so far.
Yes, I would love to receive various color combos. Is there an extra cost incurred, or does that come with the package? Also, what are the various formats you send the logo in?
another comment .. sorry to bombard you!! ... when i tried this logo on some of my applications like business card, the er of glitter doesn't show up very well against the blue swoosh. I would like to see the swoosh a little lighter and not so overpowering - sort of like the intensity of the very first design you submitted but I wasn't very keen on that washed out greenish color.
since we have found a better alternative for dark backgrounds (i.e. the use of yellow and white, or other 2-color combinations), I think I would prefer to go back to the Ink in purple and designs in pink. I had chosen this option with Ink in pink as #1 as I felt the pink worked best against both light and dark backgrounds, but now that we have another solution for dark backgrounds, I like the purple Ink better against white background
Yes, I think that's best since you want something colorful and not just monotone for packaging. I don't mind sending you extra color combos. It'll all depend on your color choices for your packaging :)
As you can see, with lighter or brighter colors or colors with lots of red in them (pink, red, yellow), it's all just too much color to have. I think your full color logo should be used on very light or very dark colors. But if you need to print it on colorful backgrounds, then monochrome would be best. Either white, or bright yellow or very pale colors, but not more than 2. This would permit you to also have a patterned background on your packaging if you wanted. Otherwise, you could have your oval shape around it but always with a white background.
My comment above was in regards to the background color. Yes, I can use a lighter orange for the lettering, but I'll also change it on the stars to match, to help with printing
just a couple of small points. can you make the tail of the letter G slightly shorter? when I place the logo into an elongated oval shape, the G tail hangs down a little too far. Also can the dot over the i on glitter be moved down slightly since it is now clashing with the t? And since the pink Ink color has changed, I think the star over the letter r would look best in purple, and thus the purple star over the letter t could be the pink (the same pink that is currently the star over the r. Thanks!
thanks, it definitely looks better here than on the black background. can you also do this against a pink background, red background and yellow background, since these are common colors I use for my party boxes, etc.
the blue swoosh here looks darker than the version in #1 ranking - i.e. it has less transition from 100% to 0% and now the letters er of glitter don't stand out as well as before
actually, there's no need to have two files... web use black has the same values of the rich black I've used now and for print, every printer has their own cmyk values for black which will always be higher than the original one i had used (0,0,0,100) so problem solved!
Hi,
So rather than having just one file, we can do two, one for white and any other background color, and one for black. here ive used a rich black, which means that rather than being 0,0,0,100 (cmyk) the zero values have more cyan, red and yellow, making the transition without passing through gray. The other file instead will have the transition as before from 0% blue to 100% blue (and that's what I've used for versions #263, #264 and #265). I hope I've explained it as easily as possible! :)
OK, could I see this one on a different color background then?, e.g. dark blue, purple? I imagine the transparent part of the swoosh will take on the background color, e.g. blue or purple, rather than grey.
rather than having a transparency effect which shows up as grey, can there be just a gradient effect of darker blue to lighter blue which ends at the letter "l" of Glitter? In other words, instead of going from 100% blue to 0% blue which makes it look grey along the way, maybe it would be best to do the gradient using two different blues at either end of the gradient?
Being a gradient that goes from transparent to blue, it will show whatever color it has behind it where the % of blue is lowest. Without the transparency, it would be a solid block and not give the effect of soft light anymore
I also want to stick with the outline (or the negative space, or whatever you call it) around the glitter ink like you have in #1 ranked design - both for the white and black backgrounds.
Thanks - I think I like this pink more than the fuchsia one. I really like the pink used by the design which I currently have in #3 ranking. Can you do something like that?
yes, I would have to be in first place now that we are in the selection phase to upload new designs, but you're allowed to switch back and forth between your top choices as many times as you like! :)
would also like to see the orange, pink and green alternatives for Ink on the white background (both backgrounds). Are you able to do this? Not sure how it works at this stage. I still have you and the other designer as my top 2 - would I need to switch you to #1 ranking so that you could submit these changes? At the moment I have the other design in #1 so not sure what I am allowed to do at this stage in the tournament. Am I still able to switch rankings until I take my final final decision?
for uniformity it would be better to choose color combos that you like best in both versions (black and white)... since i know you like the purple and blue combo on the whites but not so much against the black ;)
I completely understand the feeling! Has happened to me as well and the best solution is to stop and start again fresh, so you did the right thing! :)
Have a look at #235. I made adjustments to the gradient, by removing all the lighter colors that had too much white since it was the white to blue blend that wasn't working out against the black. I also tried to create negative space around the letters (see #237 and #238) as an alternative, though I think it actually works well without it. I've also given you a version with the lettering all in white against the black
Thanks for sending through the latest options. Sorry I haven't been very active today - to be honest, I am all "logo-ed" out and had to attend to other business, so have taken a bit of a breather before I make my final decision. I am loving all 3 of my top ranked logos .. I wish I could have them all!!
Good morning!
I've made the changes to the one you liked best. How do you feel about the party principles being under the comet, following the same curve?
That's ok! Not a problem :) I'll upload a new one all in blue, with the white on the star and the dust on the words first thing tomorrow as its past 10pm here. Thanks again!
Sorry, i think i had missed some comments since I'm not getting the notices in my inbox, my apologies!
I've made the star pink and party principles on the same curve as the comet, but smaller as you asked. Plus I've moved the fairy dust to the top of the comet.
looking good. just a thought. what I like about your original design e.g. #74 is that the swoosh looks like fairy dust being sprinkled which represents the magic of glitter ink. so maybe another option could be to move the stars and circles around the text to along the top swoosh to replicate this effect. while I still like the original design too, it doesn't replicate well on dark backgrounds (unless it is in the sticker format)
i would like to see party printables shorter - i.e. it doesn't have to take up the whole space - perhaps from the first t of glitter to the end of the I of Ink.
#214 and #215 I've used two shades of pink and added a border around the star (since it's a negative space, it'll be what ever color the background is). I used a curve for the slogan... is that what you meant?
We can try that. Ive uploaded new colors with the comet in pink and orange. i used a mix of pink and purple for ink rather than take all the purple out... do you like the color that way?
this is an interesting twist. I like the mix of colors. Would like to see more pink instead of purple in the Ink - sort of like the color of the swoosh in #211.
Just had another idea. Going back to the original design with DESIGNS then Party Printables below. Can we try an option with DESIGNS back under the centre instead of to the right, then put pack Party Printables below DESIGNS but perhaps in a downwards curve so that it appears to make a sort of oval with the swoosh above - does that make sense?
this is what I call teal or jade - it is more green. for me turquoise is more blue- sort of what you have in #193, but not so sky blue. in fact, it is more like the color of Glitter in #206
I like this - probably will be clearer in reproductions than the original format. Might be nice to see the comet star in another colour such as the pink.
Since the idea behind my swoosh was a comet/ Milky Way tails, I've turned it into a proper comet so that we could have both elements with the bright blue.
I definitely prefer this lighter blue glitter rather than the darker one in #190. It is more fun and playful. However, the swoosh does compete too much, so would like to see it lighter again, but perhaps a brighter turquoise color rather than the more opaque blue in #74
This is the thickest ( it's a few points thicker than the sticker version). I personally find this one too heavy, however if you like this better but want the sticker version we can do that!
Thanks!
Hi,
I've given you a few different options and made the font tighter and thicker. #192 and #193 is the sticker option, so it has a frame, while #191 and #190 are the versions without. As you can see, I made the blue on "glitter" darker so as to have more contrast with the brighter blue you preferred for the "Milky Way" swash.
Hi! Am still loving this design. But wondering if the font can be a little thicker and tighter (i.e. not so spaced apart). also if the blue wave at the back of the design can be slightly brighter in color such as in designs #57 and #58
I like this use of purple and pink. Instead of the orange word Glitter, would like this in the turquoise blue options you have in your designs 57 and 65
Thanks. Would like to see the Ink a brighter purple, and the red star and dot in pink. Would also like to see one option with "DESIGNS" to the right under the word Ink and delete "party printables"
I like the use of two colors for the main text. Would like to see Glitter in a more vivid, bright turquoise blue or even a fuchsia pink. Would also like to see the stars in brighter colors as in the design above - use of orange instead of yellow, since yellow doesn't really show up against the white. Also the text DESIGNS could be in the orange color from above.
I've added some new color variations and changed the way "party printables" is displayed. If there's anything you'd like to see combined into one, just let me know.
Thank you!
I really like the use of the blue wave. Would like to see a bit more colour. Am not too fond of the "party printables" immediately below the "DESIGNS".

I also put the logo against photos of my party collections, so the 2-color yellow and white option will look good

I only use global process colors, not web colors, so this is a true bright yellow that will print brightly.
