#133 - is a nice cross over between retro and current. I like the flat comic book effect and sharp angles of the character. What variations might work to bring further contrast between character and background?
#133 and variations - The feedback has been it looks like the person has been speared. Maybe soften the image a bit? Have you seen that image of John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever - it kind of reminds me of that. Might be appropriate for Geddup - James Brown "Get on the Good Foot". Dancing could work as an image...
#216 - might be an interesting alternative - the superman figure has got connotations. Goes well with the jetpack image that we loaded up. You have a good retro feel going on too.
A general comment on the designs is that we needed to avoid making them to masculine. The rocket ship isn't going to fly. This is relevant to your design as the superman image might be too male. (It was interesting that it was males that typically preferred your design!) I guess a simple alternative would be to make the gender female? But more broadly the very sharp lines might not work.
We have also loaded some fonts into the Contest Specs folder if you would like some other ideas. They are all drawn from fontspace.com under the tag 1920's.
Thanks and look forward to any further thoughts you might have. Rohan
Meant to say jimgris, we would like to add the byline "Free your time" to see how the fonts work and how the logo and name work with the byline. Thanks Rohan
Hi Rohan, I posted the entry #226 I hope no one has presented this concept before, anyway it´s a little far for my original concept but , it looks good to me, so i posted i´m still working on the previous designs.
#226 It's good - interesting, yet simple. Seems like that is where we are headed so it fits pretty well. What is really hard is trying to balance that simplicity with enough detail to add refinement.
I'm catching up with the guys tomorrow. We'll being trying to make a decision, if you have any further insights shoot them through.
