You have nailed the art deco look very well. Be great if we have you in the top 5 - I know it's late, but any insights into how these would look as app icons might help.
We have made the changes to the design as per your suggestion. Would love to show you the glimpse of it for your review. Looking forward to hear from you on the same.
Sorry, missed your comments yesterday. We have moved you into the top 5 and hope to see your ideas.
I have had some additional feedback on the ideas that you've submitted.
While I like #196 - I think it perfectly captures the art deco feel, the balance of opinion is that we'd prefer to see how #195 could be worked up. Generally, people like the simple elegance of the design but worry that it needs more to be distinctive and memorable. Whether it is accompanying the design with an image or adding a "U" next to the "G", or finding some other solution to add more depth to the image? One consideration that is coming up is that image cannot be too masculine - which is one reason why we like #195.
Finally, we have loaded up some fonts that we like into the Contest Brief that you might want to have a look at. They are all from fontspace.com under tag 1920.
Meant to say Creative Space - that we would like to add the byline "Free your time" - to see test the fonts and see how it would work with the logo and name.
Once again thanks for the support. We will work out the details and message you with the same. Right now we are ranked 9th, we believe that we missed the 5th place but we will still work out the changes as per your suggestion. We like your idea of making an icon simple yet memorable. We thrive on such kind of brief. Will do our best to deliver that kind of icon to you.
Looking forward to hear from you. Sorry if we replied late as the time difference always gets the better of us. Will try to be ready with new designs as soon as possible.
Could you clarify something - I have set up the entries by designer order, meaning that you are the 3rd ranked designer but the entry is ranked 9th. I've just done this so it is easier for us to compare designs across a range of permutations. But from what you say it looks like Logo Tournament requires the ranking not by entry not designer (which is different from how the process is described).
It seems you got it right now. According to Logo Tournament you have to rate top five designs so that the designers of that design can update new designs. So like Only Top Five designs can update new designs in Judging Mode. If you need changes or update to any specific design that you like than you have to rant that design in Top Five so that the designer can update it.
Will be right back with the changes that we have made and upload them soon.
We have uploaded the changes as per your suggestions. We have also made an app icon for your review. Also we have made an "U" in "G" with use of negative space. Hope you like them. We have tried to make the icon simple and memorable so that your audience can relate to it.
The team really likes the simplicity of your design (best seen in #195) and the longevity and adaptability it offers. It fits the brief from a colour, period and it is neutral from a masculine/feminine perspective.
However it needs more. They didn't like the idea of mixing the G and U. And would rather a symbol or icon - or something that makes it say more in any event. If you have ideas we'd love to consider them.
Hope that makes sense. Thanks for your designs. Rohan
Thanks for the guidance and we really are thankful to the team for there support. We really want this icon to work for you and would like to know if there is any specific element that is missing in our design that we can take care of. We are doing our best to deliver you the right icon for your brand.
Think of it this way - the 'G' is an attractive representation of a 'G' - but that is where it stops. The brand aims to represent the individual (as opposed to the corporate - with control of the relationship being handed back to the individual) and to represent lightness and escape from information overload.
Our sense this is best represented by an image of a real life object - not simply a letter - but perhaps this is wrong. In any event, the 'G' while simple and elegant falls short of giving a sense of what the brand seeks to do.
We have worked out a lot of option and still trying to fine tune anything that we can. We have just uploaded few of the options that we have created, hoping that you like them, Our entire team is now working on this. Once again looking forward to your guidance and help to deliver our best.
We are so thankful and honored for all the guidance that you have provided us during this contest. Thank you and whole of your team.
Still missing the point Creative Design. Your designs are good, but we need a real life object that people will immediately associate with lightness and freedom. A hot air balloon for example - it was our idea - or anything else you can think of.
