We really like your design. The text is great, the cross is great and the colors are great. A few concerns we have are:
1 - We do not necessarily want to emphasize Gaylord in our logo and as you have it in text it is quite large. 2 - We would like to see our motto not broken up, we are not closed to how you have it but we would like to see it on one line.
If there is any meaning you see in this logo it would be helpful for you to explain that to us as well, we really like it when each designer explains where they're coming from artistically with their designs we can fully understand each design.
My thoughts behind the design... the overall concept is that Jesus (cross) is visible thru the community (the background colors) of believers. The circles represent the oneness of the body of Christ. The sections of colors are meant to represent people, the parts of the body.
Other less intended concepts that can be read into the design: Cornerstone, Christ centered.
We are definitely open to a different font, some of us really like the font of Gaylord and other do not so if you have something else in mind it would definitely be worth seeing.
Just want to give some general thoughts on this contest as a whole as time is ticking down! We really like the idea of integrating whatever symbol we use in our logo with the text instead of it being so separate looking. We like the idea of unique fonts, a few of your submissions have these...we also like the idea of using something a bit more free feeling for the motto. We like the warm colors that we're seeing however we feel like we're only seeing one color scheme and would like to see some different ideas still staying away from pastels and wanting to keep it simple and not anything flashy or too much color - classy. We like the trees and crosses we're seeing but we're also hoping to see some different ideas as well....I'll copy this to each of the current submissions' pages from this Contest Discussion section as well to make sure you all are able to read this!
Your #27 is still our favorite at this point. #48 is liked by some on our team, personally I don't like how it separates the name and still really emphasizes Gaylord. However, I do like the color scheme and would like to see #27 with these colors as well as the colors in #49. I like the clean look of #49 but it again emphasizes Gaylord too much. If Gaylord wasn't our town and was a word with some meaning (ie - Grace) I would really like the idea of emphasizing it (I think it would look really cool with your designs and trust me I wish it did have more meaning) however with it being what it is it really carries no meaning with our church beyond the location.
