MY GOSH. You are the first person to get the "playful" concept. What do you think about more playful colors? I know you are following our brief. But what if you didn't? Like most clients, I don't know if we knew what we were doing when we picked those colors. So... if you were totally free, what colors would you pick for this to make people smile right when they saw it? (I already did.)
I'm not sure you need to do a lot of new work. People are gravitating back to your original one, believe it or not, #42. So if you could make the Arch taller on that one, I think you would do well. People really like your designs, I think the more do new designs, they just get "busier" and I'm not sure that's good in a logo, I'm told.... although I personally like them!
#83 #84 #85 #87 - versions of #42 with a different shaped arch and with/without buildings. #88 is a solid black version of #87. You might like some of the previous colour combinations more, so let me know if you would like to see them in these newer designs.
It looks like you're way up there in the Finalists, thank you. People are tending toward the simpler, #83 but don't seem to like the red with the other color. Could we see #83 with something other than the red? Black has been suggested, but maybe any darker color would work also. Many thanks.
#127 - a version of #83 with brown instead of red. I think brown looks better than black. #128 - a 2 colour version - gold and brown. #129 & #130 - variations of gold and brown.
Dear Enzo, I'm having a big argument with people who want the new logo to be an "updated" version of the old one. So I'm wondering if you could think about a few changes that might help me sell them on a totally new look, which, as I've already said, you've certainly provided. I think your 87 and 88 are perfect for us, because people are saying so often our logo appears in a concert program in black and white. Or on a t-shirt with limited color ("think of the expense!") So, regarding 87/88, can you add handles to the bells? People are saying "obviously those are not handbells," and this never bothered me. I don't care if the handles are floppy like 61 or 62 or straight the way real handbells are. http://www.malmark.com/cmsadmin/uploads/Malmark_Bell_Care.pdf Lastly, my absolute favorite color balances are in 60, 61, 62. But I'm not sure they work in black and white. Could you make 87 more like that? Nobody likes the red, but they're not buying the brown/gold versions either. I'm sorry to kvetch, but I am trying to advocate more strategically for you because I adore what you've done.
Designs with handles which can be seen as loop handles or solid handles with a shiny highlight. #156 - solid black #157 - solid black and a tint of black #160 - with a purple and a tint of purple #161 - same plus blue sky #164 & #165 - RINGERS is in a bolder font.
People show markedly more interest, thanks. Great handles and now the Arch looks like the Arch because you can see the left side coming down. I always need to worry what it's going to look like in black and white, so I'm not sure on the versions where the blue sky runs right up to the Arch that that's going to work in a black and white concert program. I know we have your 157 that covers that.. I just don't know whether we're allowed to choose two designs from you or only one and then it has to work in black and white. So, looking at, say #159... 1) could you redo the fonts on Gateway Ringers so that they look more alike with Ringers being slightly more prominent than Ringers? (People are saying "Why is the RINGERS in all caps like screaming and the Gateway isn't?") Again, there's Gateway everything around here, Gateway Taxi, Gateway Restaurant. You have the Gateway really big and then the Ringers much smaller in all caps. It just looks like two separate concepts. So just in principle, we'd like the Ringers word to be slightly more prominent than the Gateway word. 2) And again, starting from 159, could we have a rich watery blue instead of the purple? And also, lastly.. bell clappers only look round if you stare directly into the mouth of the bell. From the angle that you have the bells, the clappers would look more like ovoid shapes than perfectly round balls. Small things, but... thanks for considering.
Regarding colour and black/white logos; I would be happy to include a black and white version of the colour logo at no extra cost. I think this is usual on LogoTournament. The size of 'Gateway' I thought was OK originally as it was in a lighter colour than 'RINGERS' and the latter stood out more. However, I see what you mean, especially when the logo is in black/white. I'll have a look at that and your other comments.
