The skewed "G" alludes to a circular race track. It's abstract, but simple enough to be easily recognized. This also makes it more memorable. This symbol does not follow any trends and makes it unique to you and last longer down the line. It is based on simple shape manipulation and use of negative space. It is also versatile as it would work well in B/W, reverse-out, or any background color.
Thanks for the entry - The angle of the GI is unique and different - but I think the i may not look like an i. That's the draw back for the capital i. The capital i looks too much like a lower case L or a bar or a slash. Thus I have been opting for logos using the lower case i. With the many entries - I have been moving toward the logos with multiple representations of motorsport photography. ie: along with the Gi there may be a car, helmet, camera, and/or other design elements that represent motorsport photography to the viewer. This will provide opportunities for the name and logo to stick to the viewer - rather than be grouped with just another name.
Here I added a Swoosh which gives it more movement and action. It represents the speed and path of a race car as it circles around the track. It also helps to draw the eye upward around the G and then back down the now dotted "i". I also added a very subtle camera viewfinder Grid that frames the title. This is enough to convey the idea of professional photography without being too literal.
Thank you very much for the revision - I think it looks better than before.... and indeed it does move the eye around the logo. Thanks for the bracket around the name.. I will rank this today....
