Thanks for the logo entries. I like the one with the paw print more than the second one. The font style is a bit too formal for what the site intends to be, in both of the draft logos you have put forward. The text and the picture also need to be a bit better integrated for the design to move higher in my preferences.
Here is some additional feedback that I gave to one of the other designers (it may also be relevant to you):
1. Dogs/foxes are not generally the type of animal that users of the site will be focused on. Birds, reptiles, insects and fish will be the main groups of animals of interest. Mammals will be of interest but less so, I think. 2. The logos that are doing best in my rankings at the moment, are those that reference multiple species or those that are species that are globally relevant (eg birds).
Thanks for the new entries. I like entry #55 as a logo but it is not clear to me how it would tie into or allow easy derivation of icons that could be used on things like mobile phone launchers. I also still like entry #42, though it is facing some stiff competition from other designers. In terms of ways that it might be improved, I can only think that it might progress if there was a tighter integration between the snake image and the text beside it.
