I managed to get my entries in under the wire. I read your comments and the first thing that I wanted to focus on was this statement of yours: "...Full Circle is about many small focused communities of people working collaboratively to discuss and create resources...the ripples are those resources". I thought this would be conveyed by using multi colored drops to represent "community" the ripples in their multi-colors would all blend into each other ("the resources"). Your thoughts and feedback would be much appreciated. Keep in mind that you can have me change the colors, fonts... you name it. I had only minutes to work on this but I can possibly refine it further and make any suggested changes in the next phase.
Can you make some adjustments for us? Please look at some very very detailed notes we left in general feedback...several notes affect your deign. We're drawn to 161. the colors need adjustment, we'd like the graphic off the name, and you to follow some other feedback we gave specifically about the name (remove "Resources, etc. ) Your circles have a "target" feel to them, can you work on more ripple effect - radiating out?
I will do up some variations. I feel, I understand what you are looking for, but need the direction of working one logo and start sculpting it to fit. (Like chiseling at it little be little. I think right now, we are all taking the general comments and trying new looks, never fining tuning, just restarting. Does that make sense?)
The one issue that I was initially having was that the logos in general we're looking too spiritual. They felt like it was for a church. I am including myself here, there were entries that I just refused to enter (before and after the extension) because, I felt it missed the mark.
I will try your suggestion, note that the three ripples are what I had done in the very first design, I entered. Except that they are now brighter, and the droplet are removed. The reason that they look like target, is that I used a color followed by white and so forth. This was for higher contrast, but I will now work each blend and see if I can get a harmonious color blend where they intersect. It's remarkable how depending on the order of the color layers, the resulting intersected colors can have drastic changes - from nice hues :) to some really muddy looking colors :(
Lastly, I will need to send you another message when I have several to upload. While in Judging Mode only the number one ranked designer has an upload button available. You might have to do a bit of musical chair, placing a designer in first, allowing the upload, then reranking them. :)
Thanks again, I'll message you back when I have several ready. Also, feel free to contact me through Private Message by clicking on my avatar and hitting the send message button.
Getting closer...not sure how to convey this - we want the look to be more of a radiating out...effects that start at the center focal point and then radiate out....think of each "circle" as a community. That community has a sharp focus, the work done there, though, ripples out....when the work/effects of the work of one community overlap the effects of another....something new can happen...
Were any of the other versions I had yesterday closer? I withdrew several of them, because I thought there was no feedback and I dropped down in rank. I assumed that I must have missed the mark. Usually, I'll start removing unranked entries, to facilitate the process for the CH. (It's sometimes harder to evaluate a contest when there are too many entries. So to help clean up the page, some designers will just remove.) Of the 15 new entries yesterday, was there one that I should focus on and and then develop the radiating colors from there? (This is what I meant earlier about chiseling away at one logo and start fine tuning it, rather then starting with all new ideas.) Please advice. :)
Are you getting these messages? I'm not sure why I have not heard back. I don't even know if you saw the last batch, Can you please let me know if I need to reinstate any of them?
Thanks, How about the other that I did? I pulled them, because I there was no more direction on them. I don't know if they were looked at and not liked. or maybe they weren't even evaluated. No need to comment on everyone of them, but maybe, you can let me know which one is heading in the right direction, even the negative comment help us, so we can gauge our next attempt. :) The last batch ( from 184 to 198) was done bases on softening the "target" look and making the color more vibrant, but when I saw that there was no feedback, I had to assume that they must have been off-mark (no pun intended). :) I see that that #161 even ranked higher than the the same version with the softer ripples, the Full Circle on one line, and Resource removed. That 3 of the suggested changes, but not one of those change gave me any indication of what to do next. Please see my comments earlier. With little CH feedback, we next rely on process of elimination. We try the suggested changes, then then try to make a "read" based on what moves up or down. Of course, the best is CH communication since it then takes the second guessing out of the equation. It's best to let us know what your group has in mind with something like "We like the layout of A, with the color of B, can we try this or that?"
Your latest comment: "They still feel too much like targets instead of ripples, and the one color is too pink for us" still leave me at a lost. Are you referring to #161 or say #196, there were many version that had no pink and no ripples? Hope that makes sense. :)
