Hello :) My concept involves keeping the mark simple & meaningful. I've united a fork and "church key" bottle opener - the two quintessential items for eating and drinking. The image is linked with the brand name through the use of color and "distressed" texture on the sage green background (containing the emblem) and the ampersand. The slim, vertical appearance of the logo reflects both bottles & forks in design. It would also fit ideally on glassware and stamped into silverware.
Thanks Nicolette! I'll work on integrating the wine bottle :) Would you be looking exclusively for a bottle, or would you consider something along the lines of a corkscrew or cork stopper?
hmmmm... well we're open if you think the corkscrew or cork stopper are more interesting (but I think I'd still like to see an option with a wine bottle if possible!).
Hi Nicolette :) Here are some variations including a wine bottle. I thought that using the bottle in place of the square background could be an efficient way to combine them and also IMPOVE the background's visual interest.
#58 / #59 / #60 With these, it's basically the same concept as #51, but with the bottle improvement
#61 / #62 Same here, however without the texture, adding some simplicity
#63 I thought the sideways bottle could be a fun variation. The bottle on its side hints at a FINISHED bottle, which, of course is an enjoyable by the patrons. :)
Thanks so much for the new designs. I still like the format of number 51 the best with the distressed look and border around it. The last couple of things we'd like to try if possible are...
1) can you integrate the wine bottle design from number 60 into format 51 (essentially swapping the images but leaving the rest of 51 in tact)?
2) can you try a version of the above incorporating our tag line (an urban oasis on the park)?
I moved a couple of the designs (61/62) off the consideration list because we really like the distressed look. 63 is also fun but if I had to choose I think I still prefer the vertical.
#99 / #100 These are combinations of #51 & #60 - I wasn't sure if you wanted the bottle/key-fork to ALSO be distressed, so I did both for you to look at
#101 / #102 / #103 These are the versions combined with the bottle & key-fork side-by-side. #103 has an additional beer bottle cap...I thought it fit the space nicely and reminded me of those kitschy pegboards with the silhouettes of the items that go on it.
#104 / #105 / #106 Here is the same version with three different tagline placements. There's a lot of open/available space, so I thought I'd experiment with alternate placements that incorporate the tagline, rather than just hanging it on the logo.
Any other revisions that you'd like to see, please just let me know. Sorry if it's completely overwhelming - just wanted you to have all the options :)
Hi :) Just checking in to see if there were any variations you'd like to see? Text variations, etc.? If there's anything you'd like me to try, just let me know.
Sorry for the delay. The restaurant opened on Monday so we've been really busy with it. We plan to look at this again tonight and will come back to you then.
Thanks Josh - as you can see we're still a little behind - the restaurant is busier than we expected!! I've moved the logo I think we want to go with into first place. I'll do all the official ranking tonight. I think it's good to go but I'll check with my husband. We also could be interested in a second version for our some of our materials that are better suited for a horizontal logo so I may talk to you about fine tuning the one I've put in second place. Not sure how that works...
A second version is definitely do-able. Logotournament policies prohibit me from discussing until the contest is over, though. Sorry about that :(
Yep - the logo is in Adobe Illustrator format already. The selected logo is provided as a vector .eps and .jpeg, but I can also provide the native Illustrator format (.ai) and some other high-resolution options. :)
thanks for the email. Yes you were definitely right it was a busy first week and weekend of the restaurant. i guess it was a much busier start then expected but I guess that is a nice problem to have. I hope you had a good weekend trip. We are most likely going to go with number 105 but could we see number 63 with a boarder and also can you distress the green. Thanks
Congrats Josh!! We love your logo designs. After the competition is over we would like to discuss also getting a copy of the sideways version we have ranked in 4th place.
Thanks for all your help and effort - we're really excited about the final product!!
Thanks for uploading the file - it's already gracing our menus.
If we would like to purchase the sideways file, how much would you charge?
We will probably look at having different renditions of the logo for various signs and promotions over time so will be good to stay in touch in any case.
Our email addresses are: nlindquist@gmail.com and mikergog@gmail.com if you prefer to discuss over email. Can you also send me your contact details?
