Hello, Here is the design I came up with, after reviewing all of your info. The colors of the canyon are reflected, as well as that of both of your foundations (Livestrong & Susan G. Komen). I wanted it to be an all-encompassing emblem that would look and work great on shirts, as well as other materials (website, promo materials, etc.). You will have to let me know if the wording here all sounds correct, or if there is anything important missing.
Can "Indian Gardens" be moved up to the top of the shield, still maintain the "ridge line" of the canyon image.
The word Scramble stays exatly the same, except "livestrong" yellow
Keep the date
Bring the "ribbon" back along the bottom, is should be lower than and not intersect the actual graphic design but please use the "forcingthepace.com" in red lettering, using similar font to the Livestrong.org logo.
This logo/design will need to be consistent but the actual event and date will change on a regular basis.
Thanks for your patience, Scott. I am almost done with revisions, but I wanted to get my hands the actual livestrong font! I should have revisions posted very soon.
Here is the first revised entry I came up with. Let me know if you meant to literally have the ribbon completely below and not touching the rest--I tried this and it felt like it was floating too much, but I will be happy to post it if you wish to see it.
And here is another with red text on the ribbon. I changed the ribbon to livestrong yellow, as the pink ribbon did not look very nice with red text on it for some reason.
I also should mention: with any of these it would be very quick and easy to change the text to whatever it needs to be, without ruining the rest of the graphic!
Can we see what it looks like with the Ribbon floating below? Now that you have said that I think you might be right but I do want to make sure. I am looking forward to the change with the other font.
Thank you again for the different ideas with the colors, each suggesstion is really helping me get the right look.
No problem; here you go! The nice thing about this is you can see visually how it might look if you used both separately, which is definitely an option since the logo is 100% vector.
