With this logo, I was trying to present a clean/confident aesthetic - but still have a little fun, vintage/whimsy. Like Julia Child as a logo. I think the the FIX and wrench - while typically masculine images - are softened by the use of pink and the juxtaposition with the fork. Food being in a vintage script also adds a feminine touch. I kept the colors flat/simple to further the feeling of sophistication. The logo will also embroider/screen print very well.
Thanks for your consideration - any feedback you have is greatly appreciated! :) josh
Josh, I was immediately drawn to your design. It does capture humor...bravo! Since part of my persona is to be "hard hitting" and no-nonsense, I'm wondering how it would look with a hammer instead of a wrench. I like the colors...feminine....and the mix of fonts...something I hadn't thought of...
Hi! Thanks for the feedback! :) You know, I considered the hammer, but didn't think it would work as well, but after seeing it, I think the handle size/proportion matches the fork better. So, great idea! If you have any other thoughts you'd like to see, ideas for me to try, please don't hesitate.
Here are a couple more tweaks. I replaced the fork with the wooden spoon you mentioned. The other is a reference to a skull/cross bones with the cross spoons and chefs hat.
I kept the treatment of the colors flat / no gradient - as that won't really translate well to screen print/embroider or television (since most logos float over an image.
