#70 think the spacing may be a just a touch to wide they are almost floating off.
#68 I like it almost more than #70 but the feel of asterix at the end of the text in #70 referencing itself back to the graphic/middle made me favour it more
sorry - my comment didn't post, I guess. My concept floats around the idea of an asterisk in the overlap of a venn diagram. I wanted to visually show "middle ground", but not in a way that would make it seem mediocre. By using the overlap, it shows mittelstand to be the best of the best, so to speak.
The presented concepts show the versatility of varying circles...the brand is perpetuated by the asterisk / venn circles because it's a direct reflection of the name.
this is a bit more subtle and relies more on color. The asterisk is the plum color that's created from the overlapping of the red & the blue within the wordmark. Could also work as an extension of the previous idea.
Very much get the venn and centre feel of the designs, have gone with #73 over #75 the colour may just be to subtle. Have to say the mittelstand with the asterix looks strong in its own right the asterisk seems to be part of a statement. Reminds me very much of the http://tompeters.com/ logo which I much admire for its strong simplicity.
#124 like the flat colour of the word and the condensation/conjunction effect of the multi colours on the asterix sort of condenses the venn diagram theme into one symbol. Well at least thats what I read into it!
Great to hear! Yes, that's what I was trying to accomplish...sort of a "paring down" of #75 & #70. I was trying to further the idea of a conglomeration of options found in "middle ground"...essentially, the benefits of the venn overlap, and how those benefits take their own, beneficial shape (Ideally, that's what sets you guys apart from your competition - the cream of the crop working cohesively)
If there are any other directions you'd like me to take or concepts that you'd like for me to explore, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Hey FMK - As we're now in the second phase, I just wanted to check to see if you had any brainwaves that you'd like me to follow-up on or any aspects that you'd like me to improve on?
#184 #185 Nice, like the dark background the asterix works even better in that format, excuse me dropping it to third/fourth for the moment. At the moment can't think of anything else to change (may need to sleep on it for inspiration). Apologies for the slow updating today too many meetings
I had another idea that was different from anything being presented (which doesn't make it good - lol), but I thought I'd add it in so you have options.
The concept uses a "You are here" location graphic to point out the middle (which also happens to be the high point / peak of the arch) Conceptually, it's similar to my previous offering: basically saying that the mittelstand is at the point of focus...the best of everything.
Josh, Thanks for that #186 like the concept can see what you are getting at but still like the elegance of #185 #184 have bumped up the reverse out, the impact of the colour has got to me!
I think its the simplicity of #185 #184 and the feel of quality that I like, the asterix in colour is almost adding a question and hinting at more depth. May be reading more into it than is there but thats how its working for me!
#186 only thought is it might work better just using the location graphic, perhaps replacing the i the . above the i, the d, or even something more wizardly than that?
#186 - yeah, it does become a bit more complicated - I'll try just the location point. I really just wanted to offer another alternative than what I see being uploaded. Generally speaking, I think there's an occasional tendency for designers to subconsciously emulate what's ranked already rather than create entirely new options. Didn't want you to think I switch into "coast" mode...I'm still thinking!
#184 / #185 - I agree with your thoughts on this. I wanted something that could be both remarkable and simple...I think that makes for the best branding efforts. In some instances, you could use the asterisk on its own...simple, yet decidedly unique!
Here's a simplified version with the "l" reversed out...although...I'm not sure it works as well as #184 / #185. Had to try, though! (I'd rather know something doesn't work by trying it than just wonder later)
Thanks Josh just comparing now, the options are what I wanted just need to give them the attention they deserve. Have a great weekend no pressure from this end
